Thankfully, the urgent care clinic was close to his house and they were there soon enough.
Ian managed to hold onto him again after he undid his seatbelt, allowing Grim to carry him inside and set him down in a chair.
He then went to retrieve the paperwork he needed to fill out, and without hesitation, and to not waste time about getting the guy what he needed, he checked the relation box for husband, then filled out the remainder of Ian's personal information from memory.
Once that was done and turned in, he settled in the chair next to Ian and finally managed to get him to take a few sips of water from the paper cup he'd had a worker fill while they waited.
The office was thankfully not that busy and they were seen within fifteen minutes. Ian even managed to walk to the examination room with Grim's help, then was lifted up onto the little table.
Their doctor was a young woman and as soon as she stepped inside they got straight to business. She checked all of Ian's vitals, gave him another flu test, and checked with Grim concerning what medications he'd already tried, as well as what food he'd been able to keep down.
The list wasn't very long, but it gave her enough to go by.
Soon they had a prescription that the pharmacy next door was already working on filling, as well as some extra information on how to handle Ian's symptoms.
They also gave him some fluids through an I.V. and a stronger decongestant, since Grim hadn't given him any medication for a bit and he was due for another dose.
Both seemed to help him quite a bit, because once they picked up his meds and got back home, his nose was running a good bit but he was able to stand on his own and walk with minimal help.
The doctor had suggested trying food again if he was feeling better, so Grim got him a bowl of chicken broth, but left in a few of the cooked carrots and noodles from the original soup he'd made.
Ian managed to take his new meds and eat it all, and while he was clearly still hungry, his stomach was just-barely keeping the food down, so Grim had to promise him more later and get him back to bed after changing the sheets.
By ten o'clock Ian was out cold, looking a lot better and with, at least, a lower fever than before.
Dropping back down into his gaming chair, Grim heaved an exhausted sigh and moved his mouse to wake up his computer screen.
After a quick email check, he saw that his match was rescheduled for tomorrow evening, which worked out fine. There would also be no penalty because he rarely canceled and an emergency was an emergency.
If he canceled again so soon, however, there might be an issue.
Looking over his shoulder, he huffed out a breath.
Hugging one of my pillows again.
Turning his attention back to his screen, he reached over and dimmed the one light he'd turned on, then got busy farming up some items he needed to craft with.
He took his time making sure that they had everything they'd need for their next few matches, though he doubted he would let Ian play in their rescheduled one tomorrow.
He was a bit worried that Ian might be penalized, though, since he had some issues the other day. Just in case, he scanned the doctor's note he'd requested and emailed it to the person handling their contracts, just in case, so that the game organizers at least knew that he really was very sick right now and wasn't just playing hooky.
Once done, he leaned back and rubbed at his face as images of a certain shower scene came into view behind his eyes.
Grim immediately shook the thoughts from his mind, then sighed and stood up to go to the bathroom. After relieving himself, washing his hands and face, and brushing his teeth, he still couldn't quite calm the itchiness that had nudged its way beneath his skin.
