7.If At First You Don't Succeed, Try Again

The man Lucifer claims my mate is his mate, but he could be lying. Since he would not let my kitten go, I have no choice but to take him to the castle as well. It's better if I can keep an eye on him. My kitten seems to have been decieved by him as well, so I will have to fix that.

We decide to take a break by a nearby lake, so "our" kitten could stretch his legs. He curls up in the shade to take a nap while Lucifer and I jump into the water. Suddenly, I smell the scent of rogues from a few meters away. Lucifer and I growl and run for our kitten, but it's too late.

I run into the forest at full speed with Lucifer hot on my tail. After chasing them for a few minutes, we near the end of the royal pack's territory.

"I command you to stop! The Black Moon pack will aprehend you the moment you enter their territory!" I yell.

"Then don't bother chasing us!"

Sighing in frustration at being caught in my bluff, I continue running after them past the border. Soon, Black Moon warriors join the chase.

"Capture those rogues and I will give you a reward!"

"Yes, Prince!"

Moments later, the rogue looks back at us. He realizes his mistake too late. The Alpha tackles him to the ground in his wolf form. The rogue shifts into his dirty brown counterpart and tries to struggle out of the Alpha's hold.

"Do not harm the neko he kidnapped!"

Immediately the rogue is rendered unconscious and the Alpha backs away.

"The rogue was not carrying or dragging anything when I attacked him Your Highness." The Alpha says once in human form.

"Lucifer!" I bring him out of his shocked state. "I will send out some trackers to try and find him. For now, we must go to the castle and think of what we need to do." He nods in response.

We are currently pacing in our bedroom. The trackers couldn't even catch a whiff of my little kitten.

"Lucifer, what is the name of our mate?"

"Ciel."

"Would you like to meet with his father?" Suddenly, his eyes are ablaze with a rage I didn't know he had.

"Yeah. I would really like a word with that scumbag."

We walk to the sitting room and walk in. Ciel's father was asleep on the floor with a cheap bottle of whiskey in his left hand. Annet was sitting on the couch, but quickly stood as she saw me enter the room.

"I'm sorry prince Nicolai, but he wouldn't calm down unless he got some liquor. I had a maid go and get some from the store a few miles away. He fell asleep about ten minutes ago after chugging the bottle."

"It's alright, Annet. Have some of the warriors carry him to a guest room."

"Nicolai, if you're putting him in a guest room, then chain him to the bed and lock the doors and windows." Lucifer tells me.

"Why!"

"That man, and the rest of his disgusting family, treated my -I mean our - beautiful, perfect, adorable, innocent little mate, horribly."

"Annet, lock him in the basement instead of the guest room. He shall be considered a prisoner as of this moment on until proven otherwise."

"Yes, Prince Nicolai."

"Lucifer, what do you eant to do now. I will be checking in with the trackers to see if they found his trail or not."

"I can't really do much right now, but my best option is to accompany you."

"Let's go then." He nods and we both shift before taking off into the forest.

The trackers had picked up Ciel's scent with the rogues near a small stream and we are currently running after them.

I'm getting a sense of deja vu.

Prince Nicolai, we had previously gone after the rogues and guest in a very similar manner to this.

I see. Lucifer, do you suppose the rogues knew of Ciel's relationship to me?

I don't know. It is very unlikely seeing as you didn't know until after they took him, but it may explain why they kidnapped him twice. They also may have needed a hostage very desperately. It was easy for them to kidnap him once, and as people say "if at first you don't succeed, try again."

I start to reply, but we finally reach their location. The five pack warriors, two pack trackers, Lucifer and I, shift as we all come to a stop outside a normal looking house on the outskirts of the town.

The trackers and warriors surround the building while Lucifer and I silently jog to opposite sides of the front door. We listen for any signs of rogues or Ciel inside, but all I catch is his scent.

We bust through two of the windows and get ready for an ambush, but nothing happens. We cautiously look at each other before continuing through the house after our kitten's scent.

The scent of our beautiful mate is strongest in the last door on the right on the second floor. We take one last glance at each other before bursting through the door.

He was definitely here, but he himself isn't anymore. We look at around the room, but nothing seemed to stand out. The only thing we could tell, was that they took him out the window.

Lucifer opens the window and looks out, but looks back at me and shakes his head. I head to the closet and open it. I hear a click then a loud bang and everything goes black.

A/N - Yeah... hi. I am finally back (sorta). I will do my best to make up for lost time, but I'm still experiencing that block. I felt really guilty for making my readers wait though. I hate it when writers do that - suspense or not. SLIGHTLY EDITED

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR THOSE WHOSE BIRTHDAY IS IN MAY OR JUNE!!!

My present to you all is a cliffhanger..not the best present, but at least I'm back!

Oh, and the U.S. legalizing gay marriage is the better than a season 3 of Junjou Romantica. I am very excited about that though :p
