Since this shows about two skaters Nicholas and Rylee were required to take skating lessons once a week. Now Nicholas prior to this was already an alright skater but Rylee on the other hand..let's just say she wasn't.
"So we're just gonna do some basic skating around the rink for about 30 minutes and then we'll let you two go off on your own." Blake explained to the before starting to teach them some basics.
Rylee sighed as she rubbed her arms, obviously being underdressed. But yet again she was told to wear leggings and a long sleeve so. "Ok Nicholas you'll go with Blake and I'll take Rylee." Lily smiled before guiding Rylee over to a more secluded spot.
"Since you're a bit less experienced today is just about getting you to skate." Lily told her before explaining the steps to her. "Bending your legs is key, it helps you balance a lot." Rylee pulled her lips into a thin line before slowly nodding.
"Don't worry skating really isn't as hard as you think." Lily assured her before starting their lesson together. "Can you roller blade?" Rylee shook her head yes, always taking pride in the fact she can. "Great! So this should be a piece of cake for you."
30 minutes went by and let's just say, it was not a piece of cake. Every 2 minutes the girl what down on the ground whether it was on her ass or on her face. But Rylees so determined that she just got right back up and tried again.
Nicholas on the other hand was a great skater. He picked up everything in seconds, which considering how many times he got distracted by Rylee is impressive. Every time he heard her laugh, the one her loved, he caught himself staring at her.
Rylee slowly skated over to Nicholas, gripping onto him as soon as she got over there. "Well our lesson is over but you two can stay and practice for how ever long you want." The two nodded before waving goodbye to Lily and Blake.
Rylee sighed playing with her loose braid. "I'm taking that as skating didn't go so well?" Nicholas looked down at her with a comforting look. "I just don't understand why it's so hard. I keep falling on my ass." Nicholas turned her around a little so she was facing him, or well his chest.
"Look we can practice for however long you want until you feel comfortable, ok? I'll stay here until 12 am if I need to." Rylee giggled a little at the last part. Nicholas smiled at himself proud of the fact that he made her laugh. "Ok so during my lesson I learned how to skate backwards so I can actually be useful to you."
Nicholas grabbed the girl by her triceps, making sure his grip was secure. "All you're gonna do is move your feet how she told you to, I'll do the rest." Rylee skeptically nodded, not being to sure his plan will work. "Trust me Ry, I won't let you fall."
Nicholas started skating backwards, Rylee doing what he had told her to do, getting the hang of skating just a bit. "Hey I'm skating." Rylee brightly smiled at the boy across from her. Nicholas grinned back ecstatic that he could help her feel more secure in her skating.
The two lost track of time, being so engulfed in skating with each other. They had been at the rink for over 3 hours but Rylee could officially skate on her own, so it was worth it. "What time is it?" Rylee questioned going to grab her phone from her purse. "Oh my god it's literally 9:30." Rylee gasped seeing how many missed calls and messages she had received from being odd her phone for so long.
"Wait really?" Nicholas looked at her confused before peeking over her head seeing that it was 9:30. "Coopers probably freaking out." Nick said plopping onto the metal bench where their stuff lay.
"Nah he's probably loving life without your annoying ass." Nicholas looked at her with an offended look, his hand on his heart. "Rylee Minor! You did not just call me an annoying ass." "I did and I'll do it again."
Nicholas thought for a second trying to come up with a quick comeback. "Alrighty we'll pipe down pipsqueak." Rylee whipped her head around with a gasp. "Oh no you did not!" "I definitely did." Rylee playfully hit his shoulder both of them smiling at one another.
They quickly untied their skates before packing them up exactly how they were told to. "Am I dropping you off?" Nicholas asked the girl while they walked out the ice rink. "No Connors here, thanks though." They stopped outside knowing it was officially time to bid each other a goodbye.
"I actually had a good time today, thanks for teaching me how to skate." Rylee said looking up at the drastically taller guy infront of her. "Anytime blondie."
There was a moment where you could tell the gears in their heads were both ticking. Neither of them knew what to exchange next. Nicholas just did before her thought and wrapped his arms around Rylee's smaller figure.
This hug though was different from the one they had shared a week prior, this one felt real and genuine. Rylee snaked her arms around Nicks neck taking in the moment. That was until a loud beep shook them both off each other.
Connor sat in their van with a smug look on his face. "Guess that's my queue to go." Rylee rolled her eyes at her brother before waving goodbye to Nicholas. Nicholas watched as she hopped into the car and instantly started reaming out her brother which sent a laugh through him.
Rylee waved goodbye one last time before Connor drove off.
