"You guys have cars?" I exclaim, looking at the white vehicle that was parked in front of the house. Max looks at me, judging me slightly. "Of course we do?" He raises an eyebrow as we both stand at the house entrance. When I came down stairs, Max was already waiting outside the door.
I'm so glad that the erection in my pants is gone or else I would definitely had planned an escape knowing that Ares would kill me if he catches me. Death didn't seem so bad after all the things I'm going through.
The bright sun kisses my skin so warmly and I could just stand there and let myself get tanned by it. The bomber jacket I'm wearing is helping me from the cold breeze that flows in the air, keeping me warm. Right. It's October.
"I thought you all just run to places like normal wolves." I walk over to the car as Max walks over to the driving seat. "Uh, no. That is where you are wrong. We are wolfs but not simple ones, we are werewolves." He points out before opening the door and sitting in it. I nod, opening the door and following him.
"And that one." He points to the other side of the car and I follow his finger only to see a black, absolutely sexy Ferrari sitting on the side of the road. "That's Ares' car." He grins when my eyes go wide.
"That is his?" I gasp, almost jumping out of my seat. Max nods proudly. He turns to the steering wheel and turns the engine on. "Ares is rich." I mumble. It was meant to be a question but it's a statement as I look at the huge house. The structure, the interior was built with pure elegance. White paint covered the walls with huge windows. I can see some big plants on the terrace and balcony. He has both.
"This looks pretty good." Max holds a brown shirt in his hand and I study it. I scrunch my nose when I see the design on the front of it. "Nah. The color is good though." I compliment before turning around and walking to another lane of clothes. I scan the hanging clothes, tracing my fingers over the fabric. "At this point, you will end up with nothing. We have only one hour from which we have forty minutes left." Max remarks and I just nod, not really caring about the time.
As I go through the clothes to find anything to my liking, I feel my heart sinking. I wish Ares would have been here, choosing clothes for me like he did for someone that I can't be. I can't shake the growing jealousy for someone who doesn't even exist.
It's embarrassing. I know."Damn! By the way you were picking clothes, I thought you would not buy anything at all." Max eyes the pile I put on the counter.
"10 shirts. 5 sweatshirts. 3 sweaters. 4 jackets. Wait 4 jackets?" Max frowns as he continues to count the things on the counter. "I thought I would buy them since I don't know when Ares will let me out again." I mutter, shrugging before grabbing another basket and putting it on the counter.
The lady behind the cashier eyes me before looking at the counter with her eyebrow raised as she chews on her gum.
"There's more?!" Max gasps dramatically and I just shake my head. He is a drama queen, I have got to know that.
Other basket was filled with some pair of shoes and pants.
"I'll pay you when we get home." I look at Max with big puppy eyes. He looks at me before rolling his eyes at me. I don't have money, of course I was going to get it from Ares. He was my mate after all and I'm his responsibility even if he doesn't accept me. I'm here because of him after all.
"You don't have to." Max grins pulling out a credit card. My eyes follow the card as he swings it in front of my face. "I've already got Ares' card." He smirks which makes me laugh. "Well, you came prepared."
