Night had fallen on the island. However, it was different than any night previously. Peter and I were relaxing at the campfire. Peter was playing songs for me on his pan flute. Almost instantly, he froze for a moment. He called Felix over to us.
"What are your orders, Pan?" the Second in Command asked Peter.
"Go greet our newest arrivals," Peter told him, "Bring a few of the Lost Boys and the Shadow."
Felix nodded, and I raised an eyebrow at him, "Is it time?"
Peter gave me an excited grin, "Indeed my Lost Girl. The time to play has begun."
I stood up as the atmosphere of the camp changed. The Lost Boys who were dancing around the fire jubilantly now became quiet. They felt the change in Peter's demeanour. One sharp look from Peter and they scrambled throughout the camp to carry out his bidding. For a second, I caught a glimpse of the demon I met when I first arrived on the island. Despite his best efforts to hold back for me, the monster was still there after all these years.
I kissed him on the cheek, "It's showtime."
I pulled away, "I'll watch from a distance. I'm heading to the beach anyway. Don't worry, I don't plan on interfering."
"Just be careful," Peter told me, "I don't want you getting caught up in whatever Ondine and her mermaids conjure up."
"It wouldn't be the first storm I got caught up in," I laughed fearlessly.
Peter gave me a long look at my words. He knew I was reckless. I gave him a mock bow before taking my leave. I walked along the unmarked paths of the jungle. The wildlife would normally try to interact with me like a Disney princess, but not today.
I took a deep breath and sensed the presence of three newcomers to the island. My feet carried me swiftly through the dark jungle to a tree where I could watch all the action. From where I sat, I saw the portal open in front of the stretch of sand. My green eyes widened in recognition. They had done it.
Henry had grown a little since I last saw him, but was still young. He wore a blue jacket and jeans. His brown hair was a little longer. Judging by his appearance, I gathered that he did not come to the island willingly. His arms were bound as he tried to get to his feet and flee. Unfortunately for him, the man, Greg, grabbed him.
"Oh no, you're not."
He turned to the female who I assumed was Tamara before nodding his head.
"You're not going to get away with this," Henry declared, putting on a brave face.
Greg leaned closer to him. I wanted to drive an arrow into his head for his behaviour towards Henry but restrained myself. That would be ruining Peter's little game. I was not willing to see the consequences of that.
"Really? And why is that?" Greg asked the boy smugly.
"My mom's coming to get me, both of them," Henry said confidently.
My eyes widened, Regina and Emma were working together. Last I checked, they only got along for Henry's sake. There was always an underlying tension between them. Especially once it was revealed that Henry's theory about Storybrooke being created from a Dark Curse swept everyone from the Enchanted Forest to the Land Without Magic was true. Regina was the Evil Queen who cast the curse and Emma was the Saviour who broke it. Other notable Fairytale characters were living in the town including the Dark One himself. If he were to step foot on the island, he would be on my kill list along with Baelfire and Wendy Darling.
"Look around kid, do you see any clock towers? You're a long way from Storybrooke," Greg said, roughly.
"It doesn't matter, my family's been to the Enchanted Forest before and they can get here again," Henry fired back.
