Author's Note : This will be the first one shot of this book that takes place in a killing game setting, but there won't be any actual death anywhere in the chapter.

Now let the story begin.

At Hope's Peak Academy, the Ultimate Maid Kirumi Tojo is enjoying the [F/F] she made for herself and her boyfriend [Y/N] [L/N] when she glances over at him and gasps at what she sees.

Kirumi : Oh my goodness! Dear, your face is extremely pale! Are you alright?

She asks him worriedly as he gives her a weak look.

[Y/N] : I....I don't know. I was fine before I started eating, but now.....something feels wrong ba-

He's unable to finish his sentence as he loses consciousness and falls from his chair onto the floor, his girlfriend's immediately rushing over to him.

Kirumi : [Y/N]! Can you hear me?! Say something! Please!

Upon getting no response, the Ultimate Maid listens for her boyfriend's heartbeat and is relieved to hear one.

Kirumi : Thank goodness. I don't know what caused this to happen, but I'm not going to let anything happen to you [Y/N].

Gently picking him up and carrying him in her arms, Kirumi wastes no time bringing [Y/N] to his best friend [F/N], who happens to be the Ultimate Medic.

Timeskip

While waiting for [F/N] to tell her about [Y/N]'s condition, Kirumi paces back and forth before the Ultimate Medical Expert finally comes out of his lab to speak with her.

Kirumi : How is he [F/N]? Will [Y/N] be ok?

[F/N] : Yes, luckily the poison in his system wasn't a sufficient enough dose to be lethal, so he'll be fine once the medicine I gave him kicks in.

Kirumi : Poison? Is that what did this to him? How?

[F/N] : Maybe I should be asking you that Kirumi?

He says as she narrows her eyes at him.

Kirumi : Are you insinuating that I was the one who poisoned [Y/N]?

[F/N] : Well, you were the only person who's been in the kitchen all evening, and he was perfectly healthy until he ate your [F/F], so who else could've poisoned his meal besides you?

Kirumi : I love [Y/N], so why would I ever do that to him?!

She exclaims fiercely, which is very shocking for the usually reserved and composed girl to do.

[F/N] : Maybe being stuck in a killing game has finally gotten to you? Look Kirumi, I want to believe you didn't do it, but nobody else was around his [F/F].

The Ultimate Maid's eyes suddenly widen in realization.

Kirumi : No, I left his plate of [F/F] briefly unattended while I went to the restroom....

[F/N] : Which gave someone the perfect opportunity to poison [Y/N]'s [F/F] before you came back.

Kirumi : How could I have been so careless?! The person I love dearly could have died because of my lapse in judgment!

[F/N] : But he didn't though, so don't beat yourself up  over this Kirumi. Whoever was responsible clearly didn't know what they were doing, which we should be thankful for.

Kirumi : I....I suppose that's true. What worries me the most is that we don't know who poisoned [Y/N]'s plate of [F/F].

[F/N] : I'm sure Shuichi would investigate this for us if we asked. After all, he and Kaede are both so close with you and [Y/N].

Kirumi nods in agreement before both her and [F/N]'s attention shifts to [Y/N], who has regained consciousness and stumbles out of the lab.

[F/N] : Woah there bud, you really shouldn't be trying to walk right now.

Kirumi : How are you feeling darling?

She asks while wrapping an arm around him as support.

[Y/N] : Ugh, like there's warfare going on in my stomach.

He says while clutching his gut with a pained look on his face.

[F/N] : I figured as much. Kirumi, you should take him back to his dorm to get some rest. By the time you wake up [Y/N], you should feel a whole lot better.

[Y/N] : Well that's a relief. What the heck is even going on with me anyways?

His girlfriend and best friend exchange glances before the former decides to answer.

Kirumi : I'll tell you later darling. For now though, let's get you to bed.

[F/N] : And I'll go see Shuichi about that thing we talked about.

The Ultimate Maid nods before [Y/N] looks at the two in confusion and slight irritation.

[Y/N] : Shuichi? Ok, would one of you please tell me what you're talking about?!

[F/N] : Fine, just try not to freak out. Somebody tried making that [F/F] you ate be your last meal by poisoning it.

[Y/N] : Someone tried to poison me?! Who?!

Kirumi : We don't know yet darling, that's why we want Shuichi's help.

[Y/N] : I...I could have died today....

[F/N] : Yes, but thankfully the poison wasn't strong enough, so consider yourself lucky [Y/N].

[Y/N] : I certainly don't feel lucky right now!

He begins hyperventilating as Kirumi tries calming him down.

Kirumi : Listen to me dear, I understand that you're overwhelmed and scared right now, but you're going to be alright, and I'll do everything in my power to keep you safe from now on. I love you [Y/N].

She says in a gentle voice before kissing her boyfriend's cheek, which eases him a little.

[Y/N] : O-ok, I love you too Kirumi.

With that, Kirumi walks [Y/N] back to his room so he can sleep through the poison, both happy knowing the [F/F] from earlier wasn't his last meal.
