chapter 16- 'i can't die'

Alexa pov: 

"Stop!" I shriek as they hit me again. 

Another spell, another punch, another breath lost.

I might die here.

'I can't die.' I chant.

I haven't said 'I love you' to Mattheo. 

Or my final goodbyes to my favourite teachers and my friends.

I didn't tell Cedric that I had a crush on him in the second year.

I didn't tell dad that I love him.

I can't leave like this.

I didn't give my friends the letters I wrote them, that I was planning to give them when we all grow old together, I can't-

Another punch brings me back to reality.

My hands are chained to the ceilings, so I can't fight back.

I'm too weak to use any magic. 

"I'm not dating him, this is the hundreth time!" I scream. "I'm not dating Mattheo Riddle."

"Stop lying young girl!" His raspy voice fills the room. "I know you guys are, which is why I'm punishing you. Look what you made me do!" He screams at me, but I can't see anything. It's slowly becoming harder to breathe.

At least Mattheo isn't getting punished.

"Alexa?" I hear Mattheo's voice. The sound fills my heart with hope and joy before it's quickly demolished by the sounds of groans and punches. 

They aren't Mattheo's groans though. 

Shoot, he's fighting...!
