In the episode "gem glow" the gems try to get Steven to summon his weapon. When he summons a shield they all gasp in surprise. Pearl says in a breathy voice "Steven... It's a shield!" She was very surprised to see a shield. Amethyst and Garnet flinched back in surprise. If he had the "Rose Quartz" gem shouldn't they have known that it was a shield?
