Weeks had passed since Yoongi and Jungkook's confrontation, and the tension in the air was palpable. As Jungkook prepared to leave for the night, Yoongi stood in the kitchen, his back turned, trying to focus on the dishes in the sink.
"Yoongi?" Jungkook's voice broke through the silence, but Yoongi remained curt, barely acknowledging him.
"Yeah?" he replied, his tone flat.
"Do you mind if I go out?" Jungkook asked, hesitating at the doorway.
"Do whatever you want," Yoongi muttered, scrubbing a plate with more force than necessary. The words tasted bitter on his tongue, but he couldn't help it. The distance felt insurmountable, and every interaction only deepened the chasm between them.
Jungkook sighed, frustration flickering across his face. "I'll be back later," he said, but Yoongi didn't respond. He heard the door click shut, and it felt like another piece of their relationship had been locked away.
As Jungkook walked away, he felt a surge of anger bubbling beneath the surface, a rage that had been simmering for weeks. He needed to calm down before he did something he'd regret.
Maybe a night out hunting for the perfect victim would help clear his mind.
Meanwhile, Yoongi was left standing in the kitchen, his heart heavy. He grabbed his phone and texted Jimin, knowing he needed to talk to someone who would understand.
Can you meet me? I need to talk.
A few moments later, Jimin replied.
Of course! What's going on?
I'll tell you when I see you.
Meet me at the café by my place. When they met at a nearby café, Yoongi explained everything—their fight, Jungkook's distance, and his own feelings of inadequacy. Jimin listened intently, his brow furrowed in concern.
"Have you ever thought about Jungkook's old apartment?" Jimin asked suddenly. "I mean, did he ever put it up for sale?"
Yoongi shook his head. "I don't know. I haven't asked him about it."
"Maybe we should check it out," Jimin suggested, a glint of determination in his eyes. "It might give you some answers."
Yoongi hesitated but eventually nodded. "Fine. But i'll go up by myself," he said, trying to sound more confident than he felt.
They made their way to Jungkook's old apartment, Yoongi nervously played with hands.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Jimin asked, his voice soft.
"I need to know," Yoongi replied, determination settling in his chest. "I need to understand what's going on with him.But I need to go alone."
As Yoongi entered the building, the air felt heavy with nostalgia. Yoongi took the elevator up, his heart racing as he passed various floors. He walked out to Jungkook's old apartment floor and walked down to the door. He knocked, but there was no answer.
"Maybe he's not here," Yoongi mumbled. "Or maybe he's just avoiding me." He said before he knocked again.
"HELP!!!"
"Oh shut up. No one can hear you. The bedroom is soundproof." Jungkook said before he walked out and looked through the peep hole.
"Fuck." Jungkook whispered before he looked over at his phone. He took a deep breath before he answered. "Hello?" He asked as he got further from the door.
