I was getting ready when there was a knock on the door. I went and answered it, the baby sitter.
"Hey, how are you doing?" I asked letting her inside.
"Good." She smiled.
I nodded. "Lou's dinner is in the fridge, and if we aren't home to put her to bed in time, make sure to give her milk she should go down better. And call me if you need anything. Her nappy has been changed, but if it needs to be done again you know who to call."
I only let my older sister or myself change her nappy. No one else. I didn't trust anyone else. I was terrified.
I walked to Myla's room, the door was open. Lou was on her bed, watching her, as she put on her high heels. My mouth went dry and my jaw was close to dropping. This women. My god.
She's a goddess, an angel placed on earth. She was presented to me in a way i hated. But if she was anyone else i would be pushing her away because i know i would be drawn to her.
But this time i cant.
"Lou, Miss Bella is here to come play with you."
Lou smiled, squealing and giggling. She climbed off the bed, and waddled past me to miss Bella. I came into Myla's room further.
"Are you nearly ready?" I asked. I made my voice somewhat softer. I know how hard it is to be being forced into a marriage. I find it hard, and i know tonight will be hard for Myla too.
She looked at me, nodding. "Yeah, just putting my heals on." I watched her do the straps, and stand up facing me. I looked her up and down.
I didn't know what to say. If i should compliment her or not.
"Do you have the ring?"
I nodded. "In my pocket."
"Okay."
"You look beautiful." I blurted out without even thinking. I'm an idiot.
