It had been another week since Kamakshi had come to thank Vyom with those delicious chocolate brownies, and in that time, their meetings had become much more frequent.
Whether it was at Paradise Hotels, a casual coffee outing, or bumping into each other by "coincidence," Vyom couldn't deny how much he enjoyed these moments with her.
Her presence had an undeniable effect on him-he smiled more, found himself zoning out at work, and most importantly, dodged any talk about marriage.
In Paradise Mansion, the women of the house-his mother Amrita, and his sisters-in-law, Mokshita and Ishani-had definitely noticed these changes.
Vyom, who was usually calm, focused and chill out person, seemed to have his head in the clouds lately.
And that, to them, could only mean one thing: he was in love.
It was time for a confrontation.
One night, Vyom was in his room, leaning against his desk, staring at pictures of Kamakshi on his phone.
The warmth in his chest grew each time he looked at her smile.
Just then, he heard the door creak open.
Startled, he immediately locked his phone and stood up, turning to see his mother and two sisters-in-law standing in the doorway.
"Maa, bhabhi's... aap log yaha?" he stammered, a bit taken aback.
Amrita smirked, crossing her arms. "Kyun, tere room mein aane ke liye GST dena padega?"
Vyom chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his neck. "Nahi, maa, aisa nahi hai. Bas, aap log rarely aise aate ho... aur jab aate ho toh musibat leke aate ho."
Mokshita, who had been a bit more irritable lately, huffed in mock anger. "Hum musibat hai, Vyom?"
Seeing the annoyance on her face, Vyom quickly tried to recover. "Nahi bhabhi, main toh bas mazaak kar raha tha. Aap log kabhi bhi aa sakte ho. Aapka hi toh ghar hai."
The three women entered the room and settled themselves comfortably, while Vyom felt the heat of an impending interrogation building.
Ishani, sitting closest to him, leaned forward and asked, "Vyom, shaadi ka kya plan hai?"
Vyom, trying to play it cool, shrugged. "Kis ki shaadi, bhabhi?"
Amrita, never one to miss a beat, raised an eyebrow and smirked. "Teri shaadi, duffer? Ab iss umar mein toh tumhare naye dad dhoond ke laa nahi sakti na, issliye unhi se kaam chalao."
Vyom suppressed a laugh, imagining his father's reaction if he ever overheard that.
His father was utterly devoted to Amrita, and if he even suspected Amrita talking about someone else, he would probably lose his mind.
Vyom could barely contain his amusement but managed to keep his voice steady. "Right now, no plan," he said lightly.
Mokshita narrowed her eyes at him. "Toh phir tum mein pyar ke symptoms kyun nazar aa rahe hain?" she asked, her tone more serious.
Vyom froze for a moment, surprised that his family had picked up on his feelings so easily.
He glanced at the three of them but quickly composed himself, putting on his best nonchalant expression. "Bhabhi, aisa kuch nahi hai. Aap log faltu mein tension le rahe ho," he said, trying to sound casual.
Ishani, not entirely convinced, leaned back and folded her arms. "Pakka?"
Vyom gave her a firm nod. "Ji bhabhi, 100% pakka."
