Chapter 33 : Our kiss

The following week, the atmosphere at U.A. was charged with excitement as everyone gathered for a game night in the common room. The energy was infectious, and laughter echoed off the walls as classmates settled in with snacks and drinks, ready for a mix of games and friendly competition.

As the night wore on, a familiar voice broke through the chatter. "How about a classic: Truth or Dare?" Mina suggested, her eyes glinting mischievously. A wave of approval swept through the room, and soon the game was underway.

I exchanged glances with Shoto, who was seated beside me, a mix of amusement and apprehension on his face. "You okay with this?" I whispered.

"Yeah, just stay close," he replied, his gaze steady but playful.

The game began innocently enough, with simple dares and truths. Kirishima was dared to sing a love song, and Bakugo had to eat a spoonful of hot sauce, his ensuing reaction sending everyone into fits of laughter.

But as the bottle spun around, it finally landed on Mina, and she grinned widely. "Okay, I dare... Y/N!"

I felt a jolt of surprise. "Me? What's the dare?"

Mina leaned in, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "I dare you to kiss Shoto!"

The room erupted into excited murmurs and teasing comments. My cheeks flushed at the sudden attention, and I glanced at Shoto, who looked equally taken aback. His expression was a mix of surprise and amusement, but I could see a hint of nervousness in his eyes.

"Wait, are you recording this?" I asked, realizing Mina was pulling out her phone.

"Of course! This is going to be epic!" she laughed, positioning her phone to capture the moment.

"Y/N, it's up to you," Shoto said quietly, a soft smile forming on his lips. "If you're comfortable."

Taking a deep breath, I weighed the playful atmosphere against the thrill of the moment. Everyone was watching, but I could see that Shoto's gaze held nothing but encouragement. The warmth of his presence steadied me.

"Okay," I said, a nervous grin spreading across my face. "Let's do it."

Mina squealed with delight, and the room erupted in cheers and playful shouts. I turned to Shoto, who was already leaning closer, his heartwarming smile making my stomach flutter.

As our lips met, the room seemed to fade away. It was a soft, gentle kiss, filled with warmth and affection, a moment just for us despite the audience. I could feel the laughter and teasing around us, but in that instant, it felt like we were in our own little world.

When we pulled apart, the cheers grew louder, and Mina quickly reviewed the footage on her phone, grinning from ear to ear. "You two are adorable! This is going to be legendary!"

Shoto chuckled, his cheeks tinged with a slight blush. "Thanks, I think?"

I laughed, my heart racing. The moment had been spontaneous and fun, and I could see that everyone was thrilled by it. As the game continued, I felt a sense of closeness to Shoto that made me even happier.

Mina kept teasing us throughout the night, showing off the video and celebrating our "epic moment." I didn't mind; it felt good to share our happiness with friends, especially in such a lighthearted way.

As the evening wound down and everyone began to disperse, I found myself alone with Shoto once more. "So, that was interesting," I said, smiling up at him.

He returned my smile, his eyes warm. "I enjoyed it. It was... fun to share that moment."

"Yeah, I did too. Mina knows how to stir things up," I chuckled.

Shoto nodded, a small smile lingering on his lips. "But I'm glad we didn't back down. It's nice to be open about our feelings."

I stepped closer to him, feeling a rush of affection. "I agree. Moments like that remind me how lucky I am to have you."

He took my hand, intertwining our fingers. "Me too. No matter what comes next, I want to keep sharing these moments with you."

As we walked out into the cool night air, I felt a sense of joy and anticipation for what lay ahead. We had each other, and with every playful moment and serious conversation, our bond only grew stronger.
