Three weeks had passed since you and Todoroki had come out to your friends, and life felt like it had shifted into a new rhythm. You trained harder, shared more laughs, and your connection with Todoroki deepened in ways you hadn't expected. But tonight was different. Tonight, you were headed to Todoroki's house for dinner.

As you stood in front of the mirror, adjusting your outfit, a sense of nervousness settled in your stomach. You had met his friends, and you were confident about your relationship, but meeting his family was another matter entirely. You knew the rumors about the Todoroki family, particularly regarding his father. You had never pressed Todoroki about it, but you felt the weight of his complicated past looming over you like a shadow.

When you arrived at Todoroki's house, the imposing structure loomed over you, its sleek design reflecting both power and coldness. You took a deep breath and followed him inside. The atmosphere felt charged, and you could sense Todoroki's unease even before he spoke.

"Y/N," he said quietly, closing the door behind you. "I need to talk to you about something before dinner."

You looked up at him, your heart racing. "What is it?"

He hesitated, his brows furrowing. "It's about my father. I... I don't want you to be caught off guard."

You felt a shiver run down your spine. "What do you mean?"

Todoroki took a deep breath, his expression becoming serious. "I haven't had a good relationship with him. He's... not who people think he is. He's strict, controlling, and I don't want you to feel uncomfortable when we're at dinner."

Your stomach twisted at his words. "Is he... abusive?"

Todoroki's gaze hardened. "In a way. He expects perfection and has little regard for our feelings. That's why I've avoided bringing friends home. I didn't want to expose anyone to that."

You reached out, taking his hand in yours. "Thank you for telling me. I'll do my best to handle it."

He nodded, his grip tightening around your hand. "Just... be yourself. He doesn't know about us. I've never told him about my feelings or my life in the Dark Forest. I want to keep that part of my life separate."

The two of you exchanged a look, and for a moment, the world outside faded away. The bond between you felt unshakeable, fortified by understanding and trust.

When you entered the dining room, the atmosphere shifted. The table was elegantly set, but the warmth you had hoped for was missing. His father sat at the head of the table, an imposing figure with sharp features that seemed to radiate authority. His cold gaze fell on you as you entered, and you felt a chill run down your spine.

"Shoto," he said, his voice low and commanding. "And who is this?"

"This is Y/N," Todoroki replied, his tone steady but lacking warmth. "A friend from school."

His father's gaze bore into you, scrutinizing. "Interesting. I didn't know you had friends. You should focus on your training instead."
