The haunting, creaking echoes of the night filled the thick jungle which surrounded the large concrete paddock, as a gentle fog slowly dissipated the closer the sunrise came. Dozens of heavily armed workers dressed in blue overalls and black pocketed vests, heads adorned with orange hard hats waited with baited breath staring towards the tree line as the thundering crunch and snapping of branches along with the distinct sound of a chugging engine grew closer to them as the seconds passed by. As the trees rustled violently those of the workers who were armed with vicious stun rods gripped their only form of protection tightly as the sweat beat down their foreheads rapidly from the humid early morning air which battered against their faces.

All were eerily silent as the moments passed by, The Park's game hunter, Robert Muldoon cocked his Franchi SPAS-12 held in his solid grip backed by multiple armed men all wielding M-16s poised and ready in case the lethal beast they were dealing with broke loose from its prison. Suddenly, the massive flood lights revealed a reinforced metal cage which thrust through the trees suspended a few feet in the air balanced on an industrial forklift's prongs steadily. "Everybody, heads up! Keep it clear, now. Keep it clear!" one called out to his workmates as the few closest slowly backed away still looking up towards the cage.

Lumbering slowly towards the concrete platform moulded into the sloped earth which connected directly into the enclosure, separated only by a heavy gate built to keep the so called animal inside at all costs. " Bring it forward, come on!" another worker barked watching while the forklift came to a sudden jolting halt just shy of the structures edge, as workers who stood upon it directed the vehicles operator were to set the heavy prison.

Like moths to a flame men armed with stun batons took a mere few steps forward as the cage inched ever closer to the ground. "Slow it down!" one ordered as the machine clanked and spluttered setting the container with a loud thud firmly on the ground.

"Okay, pushing team move in there. I want tasers on full charge." The Englishman commanded observing the loaders who rushed towards their objective grabbing onto the hooks moulded to the cage either side of it. A gut wrenching high pitched shriek startled one of the men as he glanced into the darkened cage through one of its many slits, the interior barely illuminated by the many spotlights shone upon it.

Without warning the vicious animal trapped within slammed its body into the side of, what it considered its jail, startling the workers who all simultaneously let go jumping back fearfully as the cage shook violently side to side. "Steady! Go on. Step back in. And push!" Muldoon instructed almost impatiently. Once again the loaders regained their composure, falling back into their positions like a well oiled machine they began sliding the metal cage along the small tracks beneath towards the paddock doors just ahead.

The loud grinding of metal filled the air as the box methodically inched closer to its locking point, a deep electronic buzz screeched as the red light built into one of the concrete supports flashed green signalling the doors where now ready to be opened. "We're locked. Loading team, step away. Gatekeeper." Muldoon said as the other men hurried as far as they could away from the predators confinement.

After the others had backed away, another worker used the small steel footholds to haul himself atop the cage. Whatever beast lay inside watched with its reptilian eyes the perceived prey from the slits above snorting viciously, yet rather strangely did not struggle seemingly waiting for an opportunity. "Jophery, raise the gate!" Muldoon shouted for a final time, he himself stepping forth with his shotgun raised ever so slightly.

Squatting down Jophery clutched the top of the unlocked gate, heaving with his bare hands as it slowly but surely raised with a grinding scrape. However, just when it looked as though things would go off without incident the untamed creature suddenly shot forward at a break neck speed ramming the cage from the inside shoving it backwards along the tracks and flinging Jophery to the ground and in an instant the man screamed as he felt himself being violently dragged across the tarmac, rows of razor sharp digging into his leg.

With no other option he turned himself on his side latching onto the edge of the cage clinging to it for dear life while the monster tore at his ankle screaming out in pain as the workers armed with stun rods converged on the cage. Instinctively Muldoon bolted towards him, dropping his gun close by as he hooked his hands under Jophery's arms tugging back towards him away from the cage as he fought tooth and nail with the monster to save the unfortunate man. Though it was futile as the malicious being fought harder for its prey, thrashing violently as Muldoon lost his grip.

Horrifically Jophery was hoisted into the air almost knocking Muldoon to the ground, his torso quickly disappeared into the cage yet at the last moment the Game Keeper raced forward in Last-ditch attempt to save the mans life. All while the other men jammed their stun rods into the slits shocking the beast which only seemed to goad its killer instinct rather than subdue it, "Somebody help him!" one yelled as the cage was filled with the light blue hue of the high voltage shocks.

Muldoon, still wrestling with the animal held onto Jophery for dear life bracing himself against the cage. "Work her back!" he called out as more men rushed in either side the cage, shoving the stun rods inside the cage brutalizing the monster even further. One brave soul even circled Muldoon and shocked the monsters scaled head directly, yet it did nothing to deter the primal killer.

As the struggle continued Muldoon's blue eyes glanced through the slit just in front of him, catching sight of the Velociraptor's thrashing head and oddly calculating eyes. Falling to the ground he hooked his arm around Jophery's throat, his other hand gripped to the mans shoulder while he reached out begging for more men to try and help, yet it was no use as Muldoon's vice like grip began faltering with Jophery sliding from his grip. "Shoot her!" he ordered through gritted teeth as the raptor tugged again pulling the man further to his doom, the Game Keeper barely clung to his wrist as the rifle wielding men on the metal platform just above prepared their weapons.

"Shoot her!" he called out desperately once again as Muldoon's grip faltered even further. Suddenly multiple gunshots crackled through the air drowned out by Jophery's blood churring screeches, though it was use as the Raptor with one final tug finally freed its prey from Muldoon's grasp yanking the Park worker into the dim light of the cage. Jophery let out one final scream, cut off by a meaty crunch as the Raptor dug its razor teeth into the mans jugular killing him, only then did a well placed shot subdue the primal killer. Yet it was too little, to late as Jophery lay unmoving within the cage along with the incapacitated form of the very thing which ended his life so soon.
