Y/N was curled up in bed, feeling utterly miserable. The flu had knocked her off her feet, leaving her weak and with a perpetually stuffy nose. The only consolation was that it was the weekend, so she didn't have to worry about missing school. However, her bad luck seemed to continue as she had to cancel her plans with Akaashi to go art supply shopping. Why now? Why did I have to get sick just when I wanted to hang out with him?
After sending her message to Akaashi, she lay back on her pillows, feeling a mix of disappointment and hope. The thought of him potentially helping her buy art supplies was a comforting one. She could barely imagine how wonderful it would be to see him even in her current state.
Just then, there was a knock on her door. Her mother peeked in, a grin stretched across her face. "Y/N, you have a visitor."
A lump formed in Y/N's throat as the door opened to reveal none other than Akaashi. He was holding a plastic bag filled with art supplies and snacks, his expression as calm and composed as ever. Y/N's heart skipped a beat. No way. Akaashi is actually here?
"Hi, Y/N-san," Akaashi said, his voice gentle. "I brought some art supplies and snacks for you. I hope you're feeling a bit better."
Y/N, feeling a rush of warmth and embarrassment, tried to sit up, but her strength failed her. "Akaashi-san, you didn't have to..."
Akaashi quickly moved to her side, gently placing a hand on her shoulder. "Please, just stay in bed and rest. You're not in any condition to be up right now."
Y/N felt her cheeks heat up even more at the touch. This is so embarrassing. My crush is here, and I'm a mess.
Akaashi glanced around the room, taking in the numerous sketches, paintings, and drawings that adorned the walls. His eyes lingered on a few sketches of himself, his heart doing a little flip. Is that... me? he wondered, feeling a mix of surprise and curiosity. He didn't mention anything, choosing to focus on Y/N instead.
"So, um," Y/N began, trying to make conversation despite her raspy voice. "How was your day?"
"It was good," Akaashi said with a smile. "Just a usual day at practice. And I saw your message. I thought it would be nice to bring the supplies you needed and make sure you're okay."
Y/N's face was a mix of shock and joy. "Thank you so much, Akaashi-san. It means a lot to me."
"Don't mention it," Akaashi replied, feeling a bit flustered. "I hope you like the snacks. I wasn't sure what you'd prefer, so I just grabbed a variety."
Y/N's heart fluttered as she looked at the array of goodies. "This is amazing. I love... well, everything here."
Akaashi chuckled softly. "Good. I'm glad."
The two chatted for a little while longer, with Akaashi occasionally checking the time. As much as he wanted to stay, he knew he had to leave soon. "Well, Y/N-san, I should probably head out now. I don't want to overstay my welcome."
Y/N's eyes widened. "Oh, don't go! I mean, thank you so much for coming. It really brightened my day, even though I'm sick."
Akaashi gave her a reassuring smile. "Get well soon, okay? And if you need anything else, just text me."
"Will do," Y/N said, her cheeks still flushed. "Thank you again, Akaashi-san."
As Akaashi left, he was met with a chorus of cheers and playful jeers from his volleyball teammates who had been waiting outside. They had obviously seen him coming and going, and their teasing was relentless.
"Look at Akaashi, all grown up and taking care of his crush!" Bokuto teased, grinning widely.
"Don't think we didn't notice those heart-eyes you had while talking to her," Konoha added, making Akaashi roll his eyes, though he couldn't help but smile.
Back in her room, Y/N was practically glowing. She settled back into her bed, her thoughts drifting to Akaashi. He really came to visit me. And he's so... perfect. Even in her feverish state, her spirits were lifted, and she felt a new surge of happiness.
As soon as Akaashi was out of sight, Y/N's mother peeked her head back in, her grin even wider. "So, did Akaashi say anything interesting?"
Y/N, too weak to respond in anything but a whisper, could only nod. "He was really sweet, Mom. I can't believe he came all this way just for me."
Her mother chuckled softly. "It seems like someone has a special admirer."
Y/N buried her face in her pillow, too embarrassed to respond. Her mind was buzzing with thoughts of Akaashi's visit. Despite feeling terrible, she couldn't help but feel that today had been one of the happiest days she'd had in a while.
As she drifted off to sleep, she couldn't wait to see him again.
