Monday flew by, and Y/N sat with Yuki in their classroom, listening as her friend rambled on about something funny that happened over the weekend. Y/N was half-listening, still distracted by the nagging thought of her missing drawing and the mortifying possibility that someone had found it.
"And then he slipped on the stairs! It was hilarious!" Yuki burst into laughter, and Y/N offered a small smile, nodding along.
Just then, a classmate approached her. "L/N-san, someone wants to see you at the door."
Y/N blinked, confusion washing over her. "Me?" Who would want to see her? She glanced at Yuki, who raised an eyebrow curiously.
"Maybe it's the ghost of your lost sketch!" Yuki teased, but Y/N just rolled her eyes and stood up, making her way to the door.
When she stepped out into the hallway, her heart nearly stopped. Standing there, calm and composed, was him. Akaashi Keiji. The pretty boy.
Y/N froze, eyes wide as Akaashi gave a polite bow. "L/N-san, I'm Akaashi Keiji. I believe this belongs to you."
Her breath caught in her throat as he handed her the drawing. Her drawing. The one of him. Her face flushed with embarrassment as she stared at the portrait in his hands, struggling to comprehend how this was happening.
No. No. NO. This can't be real. How does HE have it?!
"I... I thought it flew away," she stammered, barely able to meet his gaze. "How did you...?"
Akaashi smiled softly, holding up the paper. "I asked around in the art club and figured it was yours. Your name was on the drawing."
I SIGNED IT?! Y/N mentally slapped herself. Of course, she signed it!
He continued, "You're very talented. It's a really nice drawing." His compliment was so casual, but Y/N felt her face grow even hotter. She wasn't used to being complimented, especially not by someone who looked like he just stepped out of a magazine.
"T-Thank you... It's nothing, really. Just a quick sketch..." Her voice came out as a squeak, and she immediately wanted to sink into the floor.
There was an awkward pause before she added, "You can keep it... if you want."
Akaashi looked slightly surprised. "Are you sure?"
"Y-Yeah, it's fine!" Y/N waved her hands nervously, trying to downplay the situation. Please just let this moment end.
The school bell suddenly rang, signaling the start of the first period. Akaashi gave her a small, polite smile. "Thank you, L/N-san. I'll take care of it. Have a good day."
Y/N bowed slightly, still red as a tomato. "You too, Akaashi-san."
As she returned to class, Yuki was sitting at her desk, grinning like a cat who had just caught its prey. "Soooo... What was that about?" she teased, eyes glinting with mischief.
Y/N groaned, burying her face in her hands. "Don't. Just... don't."
Yuki leaned forward on her desk, not letting it go. "C'mon, spill the beans! He's the guy, right? The one you've been swooning over since day one?"
"I'm not swooning!" Y/N protested, but the blush on her face gave her away completely.
"Sure, sure," Yuki said with a wink. "But you were practically glowing when you came back in."
Y/N just groaned again, silently begging for the ground to swallow her whole. I can't believe this is happening.
