ACT I: THE MAGIC PRISON

Jay's first instinct as soon as he wakes up is to notice his form. His wolf skin was greasy.

Was that... blood?

He darted his spiky tongue to taste the liquid, and the realization hit him, but before he could piece the puzzle, the sides of his head hurt like it'd been struck with a hammer. Holding both his sides, he looks around the room—a musty space with a variety of items spread across.

Jay: Where in the world am I?

A voice echoed. Sunlight slid through the bars of the window, but the source could not be located.

The voice: You're awake! I've been waiting for your presence. How's the hangover?

Jay: You're too enthusiastic. And did you say hangover? Is that what this headache is about?

He looked down at his streaked pants. It must've been the drinks.

But, wait. There is blood all over me. Who did I feast on?

The voice: Getting your memories back, is it? Well, let me help you—your friend Arav is dead. He claimed that one of you is the culprit, but he wasn't sure who.

Jay: One of us?

He looked around when he saw a figure curled up like a cat.

Oh.

Jay: I am sure I turned to my werewolf pants to impress someone, but it definitely cannot be the sleeping beauty in this room. Besides, it's rude to lock someone up if you don't have solid evidence!

With a clicking sound, the voice disappeared.

His senses couldn't locate him, and with the snap of a finger, a few grunts and itching later, he turned into his human form again. His body tickled as it was still adjusting to the changes he had just made.

When he could finally move, he nudged his friend. A snarl left his lips when he didn't comply.

Jay: Alright, violent shaking it is then.

His friend woke up and stared at the room, his vision barely in focus.

Karan: I should probably invest in more colored lenses. Those ladies always ask for the most insane colors in existence.

Jay: You're awake; congratulations! Now, why did you kill Arav?

Karan blinked a few times before responding.

Karan: What‽

Jay: If you'd stop with the interrobang and actually answer my question

Karan: I'm going to take a nap!

Before he could try and stop him, Karan had already assumed his snore.

Jay: Wow, such a friend! I wonder if Arav is around as a ghost. I'd love to ask him; Karan here definitely wouldn't be of any help.

ACT II: THE SUMMONING

The voice: Now that you've figured out about your friend's demise, you're to be locked in this magic prison until you find out who did the murder. Each second is precious, and using your magical powers is going to be more painful than usual. Enjoy!

Jay rolled his eyes in disbelief.

Jay: I'm trapped in a magical prison with a vampire who cares more about sleeping than anything else, and using my intuition would only make things worse. How am I ever going to solve this murder and get out of here?
