~ two days later ~

I sat across the dining table from Lyric. The both of us stared at one another, intensely. "Go!" Lyric suddenly shouted. "Relax. I'm thinking." I told her, looking at the cards in my hand.

Destiny was currently at work. Meanwhile, Lyric and I were playing uno.

Lyric ended up being suspended from school for a couple of days. So I was the one staying home and watching her. It was chill most of the time, but we would occasionally bump heads. Lyric's really my twin though.

"Any day now." Lyric rolled her eyes. "You know what..." I said, putting down a draw two. "Right back to you!" Lyric slammed down a draw two. "Nah, right back to you." I said, doing the same.

"Nah, right back to you homegirl." Lyric slammed another draw two card on the table.

"Bruh." I smacked my lips.

"What's the matter? All out of good cards, huh? All bark. No bite." Lyric sassily spoke. "That's why you not getting no ice cream." I chuckled.

"You still have to draw eight! Hm, let me help you." Lyric started pulling out eight cards from the deck. "You a real shady individual, you know that?" I shook my head at her.

"I learn from the best." Lyric smiled at me. I chuckled to myself.

We continued playing uno for a little while before Lyric beat me for the second time...out of three games. And of course she laughed at me. Loudly.

"Okay. You know what? Go to your room." I told her, pointing down the hallway. "Nooo. No. No. You can't do that. Take it like a G." Lyric sassed.

"You my son." I chuckled.

"You mean daughter." Lyric tried to correct me. "Nah, son. It's an expression." I explained. "It's an expression." Lyric mocked, making a face and sticking her tongue out.

I gave her a blank facial expression.

Lyric laughed a little, covering her mouth. I shook my head at her.

"I have a question..." Lyric suddenly spoke as she calmed down from laughing. "What's up?" I gave her my full attention. "How come my hair still doesn't look like yours and mommy Des yet?" Lyric wondered, caressing her starter locs.

"Well that's cause locs be taking a little minute to fully mature, or develop I should say. But yours look good. Enjoy the journey." I explained.

"No. I don't want them anymore." Lyric sighed.

"You don't want your locs anymore? You wait until your hair starts locking to say something?" I questioned. "Yea..." Lyric breathed in through her teeth.

"So you wanna comb them out?" I asked. "No...I wanna cut it all off. I wanna...I wanna boy hair cut." Lyric hesitantly expressed.

"You want a haircut?" I slowly asked. "Is that bad? I just think it looks cool." Lyric explained. "Nah, it's not bad. But it's a big decision. One you can't just reverse." I stated.

"And this is a decision we'll have to include Des in. But nah mama, it's not bad at all." I assured her. Lyric smiled a little. "You should also let me do gold-" she tried to propose.
