Georgia completed her project and heaved a sigh of relief. She remembered her last assignment at Fordsville due to which she had to face so much humiliation. She'd never allow herself to be in such a situation, ever. Then she had no control over the circumstances she was in, but today the circumstances were different. Today, she could focus on her career and do something worthwhile with her life. Stretching her aching back, she lay down on her bed for a while, when an incoming call disrupted her thoughts. As expected, it was Wyatt. Reluctantly, she received his call.
"Have you finished with your assignment?" he asked impatiently. She could clearly hear hooting and teasing going on in the background.
"No, I'm still at it. Don't wait for me, Wyatt."
"There's a party here and I need my girlfriend, dammit," he muttered.
Georgia sighed. She felt quite uncomfortable being Wyatt's girlfriend when she felt no connection with him. It felt like a forced drama.
"I can't make it tonight."
"F*ck you!" He swore under his breath and immediately disconnected the call. Georgia stared at her ceiling, feeling guilty that she was being a horrible girlfriend, but she didn't feel like going to his party. She disliked his friend circle, who always gave her dirty glances.
Another call disrupted her thoughts. This time, it was Gabrielle. Georgia knew she would lecture her again, yet she couldn't ignore Gabrielle. She accepted her call.
"Ugh, finally! What were you doing? Did you complete your project? Is that tool still with you?" started Gabrielle in one breath until Georgia interrupted her.
"Gabby, stop. I'm at home and I've just finished my project. No, Wyatt isn't with me, but he's eating my head, asking me to go to his house tonight for a party as his parents are away," said Georgia. Gabrielle gasped.
"A*shole! I knew he was up to some mischief. I hope you aren't going there. He'll force himself on you, girl. Please don't go," warned Gabrielle in a horrified tone. Georgia rolled her eyes.
"No, he won't. He's not that bad. He's quite caring, and he asked me to be his girlfriend today. I think he has feelings for me," said Georgia. Gabrielle grunted with annoyance.
"Feelings? Wyatt? No way. He only has a tool, and all he cares about is how to use it," said Gabrielle. "You can ask any girl on our campus. They'll tell you horrific stories of how Wyatt trapped them and discarded them like trash after getting into their pants," warned Gabrielle. Georgia's face paled. Was she his next target?
"Maybe I'm different from the others," she said hesitantly. Gabrielle laughed.
"Really? How are you different?" she asked impatiently.
"Forget it. Anyway, I've declined his offer. All his friends were there, and he wanted me to be by his side as his girlfriend," said Georgia with a sigh.
"Then we're going. Get ready in five minutes. I'll come down to pick you up," said Gabrielle.
"Wait! Why did you change your mind when you just now warned me not to go there?" she asked, feeling confused. Gabrielle chuckled.
"Don't inform him we're going. We'll take him by surprise. I want you to see with your own eyes what he actually is," said Gabrielle. "Now get ready. We'll sneak up on Wyatt," said Gabrielle, disconnecting the call. Georgia was apprehensive.
She knew Gabrielle was overreacting, but she too wanted to prove it to Gabrielle once and for all that Wyatt really cared about her. How could she fight with her best friend all her life? She was Wyatt's girlfriend today and when he asked her to marry him, she would agree too. He was far nicer to her than Ryan ever was. Ryan never gave their relationship a name. He only took advantage of her and kissed her twice. She would one day prove it to Ryan that she had moved on.
