Ja'Kiya

Obsessed

It was surreal to see how far Zedadiah had gone in such a short time.

His gameroom was transformed; soundproofing panels lined the walls, and an array of instruments filled the space. I was both impressed and overwhelmed.

"You really did all this for me?" I asked, still trying to grasp the reality of it.

As I took in the details, the vibrant colors and the carefully arranged equipment, I couldn't help but feel a mix of gratitude and concern.

"But what about your space? This was your gaming room."

He shrugged, dismissing my worries with a wave of his hand. "I can play 'em anywhere. You needed growth space"

I felt a warmth spreading in my chest, yet the intensity of his feelings was daunting. "Zeddie, I appreciate this, but I can't help but wonder if this is crossing a line."

His expression shifted slightly, a flicker of defensiveness in his eyes. "It's just a room, but it's for you. You're going to use it"

I sighed, caught between admiration and the nagging feeling that his obsession might lead to complications. "Okay, but let's take it slow, alright?" I suggested, hoping to find a balance in his fervor.

Humming softly to himself, he mumbled, 'How many more dates until you agree to be mine? You're my girl regardless, but Ima hear you out.'

I looked at him thoughtfully, responding, "Dates are meant to bond people together. If you put a number on it, it loses its meaning. There's so much more to dating than just going out and cuddling. I want to understand all the complexities before I give you my heart completely."

He tugged me closer, his voice steady, "Everything I do is meaningful when it involves you. I know there's more to it, Phat. I'm not rushing you; tell me something. How you feel?"

"I'm attracted to you, Baby. I've never hidden that. If it's meant to be, we'll find our way together. There's so much we still don't know about each other. Let's enjoy the journey and not stress about the future too much."

He nodded, his expression softening, "I'm not leaving anything important out—"

"Everything about you matters to me, I have yet to see how you react to genuine distress or anything really but from what you and Yaze told me it could get ugly. I-"

"On my niece life, my anger will never touch you. Phat you are the most protected woman in the city. You'll never see me act anything other than your man. I won't tint those pretty eyes with death and murder. We can keep this up for however long you want, nothing will change. You won't catch me doing anything."

"Kay, it's time for my wax appointment. I'll FaceTime you when I get there."

"Why you keep tryna leave me? I can't come?"

"No not to this, my wax girl is shy so extra guess aren't allowed. I'll come right back when I'm finished."

"I can take you?" he murmured, his eyes still closed, as he wrapped an arm around my shoulder, pulling me closer. "Phat mama, you know I want you stuck to my hip. Why not adjust your plans for me? I'll pay," he added with a smirk.

I nodded, laughter bubbling up as I pressed my lips against his. His response was immediate, a kiss that sent a thrill through me.

"You were going to pay regardless; I'm just a girl," I teased.
