V. Caught.

. . . . .

"Motherfucking hell"

"Silence."

I clamped my mouth shut as he pressed the cold metal harder into my side.

His presence was the last thing I anticipated.

'How the fuck. . . Was I not discreet enough!?' Panic flickered through me as I bit down on my lower lip, searching for any escape. "What do you want?!" I hissed, my voice low, almost a growl.

The moonlight spilled across his features, revealing every sharp angle and shadow.

At this moment, Dakari had me pinned. His pistol glinting in his right hand, his left forearm pressing my neck against the rough wall behind me.

He was fucking smirking, as if this whole situation was some private joke.

"You. You're the one I want." That was his answer, and he delivered it with infuriating ease.

I shot him a look of pure distaste and disgust. 'What the fuck?' Honestly, what the hell is wrong with him???'

I twisted, trying to break free from his iron grip, pushing against his hand with all my strength.

It didn't budge.

All I could muster was a hateful glare. "Let me fucking go!" I snarled, struggling, my breath coming faster.

"You're staying put until you spill everything you know." His voice was a menacing whisper, low and cold.

Fear prickled at my skin as he towered over me, but I refused to let it show.

Up close, his good looks were undeniable. His eyes a piercing, deep ocean blue, his hair darker than midnight, a stark contrast to my own. His lips were thin, his jawline sharp, his whole face sculpted like some angelic model. He was captivating, in a way that would be dangerous if he wasn't so terrifying.

If only he wasn't so damn scary, he'd be the perfect partner— no one could top his looks.

But his personality? Absolutely rotten.

Not cute.

Not desirable.

"I don't owe you anything." I spat back.

"Right, you don't, but your master does." He enunciated "your" with a smugness that made my skin crawl, as if he knew something I didn't. Which was a foolish assumption on his part.

I blinked, confusion flickering across my face.

Master?

Was I missing something?

Who the hell was my master supposed to be?

Since when did I have one?

What the fuck!?

"The fuck you mean master?" I scrunched my nose in disgust, my patience fraying to the breaking point.

All I wanted now was to get away from him. Every second in his presence made my skin crawl. I couldn't stand being this close to him, not even for a moment longer.

He was infuriating, making me feel off-balance and stupid, or maybe it was just the stress of being cornered.

"Don't act like you don't know." His voice was a low, angry growl, his thick brows knitting together in a scowl that darkened his already menacing expression.
