Nick and Charlie had spent the afternoon wandering through the snow-covered park, their breath forming clouds in the crisp air. The world around them was silent, wrapped in a blanket of white, with only the crunch of their boots breaking the stillness. By the time they reached Nick's apartment, the cold had seeped through their layers, chilling them to the bone.
Inside, the warmth of the room was a welcome contrast to the biting wind outside. Nick threw off his coat and rubbed his hands together, trying to bring some feeling back into his fingers. Charlie, still shivering, wrapped his arms around himself, his cheeks flushed from the cold.
"Come here," Nick said, his voice soft, yet with an edge of something more. He reached out, pulling Charlie into his arms. The touch was electric, sending a jolt of warmth through both of them. Charlie melted into him, resting his head against Nick's chest, feeling the steady thump of his heartbeat.
Nick's hands found their way under Charlie's sweater, fingers tracing the lines of his back, feeling the coolness of his skin. "You're freezing," he murmured, his breath warm against Charlie's ear.
Charlie looked up, their faces inches apart. "Warm me up, then," he whispered, his voice teasing, but there was a challenge in his eyes.
Nick didn't need to be told twice. He leaned in, capturing Charlie's lips in a kiss that started slow, but quickly grew heated. The cold seemed to evaporate between them, replaced by a different kind of heat that had nothing to do with the temperature of the room.
They stumbled back toward the couch, still tangled in each other, Nick's hands never leaving Charlie's skin. The sweater was pulled off and tossed aside, quickly followed by Nick's shirt. The warmth between them intensified, every touch, every kiss igniting a fire that spread through their veins.
Nick pulled back for a moment, looking down at Charlie, his hair tousled, his eyes dark with desire. "Better?" he asked, his voice husky.
Charlie smirked, pulling Nick down on top of him, his hands roaming across Nick's back, pulling him closer. "Not even close," he breathed.
Nick's laugh was low, vibrating against Charlie's chest as he leaned in, his lips finding the sensitive spot just below Charlie's ear. "I guess I'll have to try harder, then."
The cold outside was forgotten as they lost themselves in each other, the heat of their bodies chasing away any lingering chill. The world outside could freeze over, but here, in each other's arms, they were warm—burning even. The only thing that mattered was the closeness, the shared warmth, and the fire they had sparked between them.
