"Hannah, he's waiting in the airport-"
I didn't need further explanation for me to hang up Penelope's call and rush outside. I picked the car key on the way, only to be stopped at the door for being questioned by my dear boyfriend.
"Where are you going, babe? I already got the groceries." He smiled, blocking the door. "You don't need to go out."
Heaving a sigh, I gave him a pleading look. His face hardened, "Don't you dare use your puppy eyes on me," he softened after I gave him my most cutest pout which always gives the guaranteed results. "Fucking hell, fine. Just tell me where you are heading to."
"I'm heading off to pick up a friend of mine from the airport," I answered literally screeching of excitement, moving him gently out of the way and walked out. "It has been a while since I have seen him."
He suddenly caught my arm a teeny bit too tightly which made me wince. "Him..?"
My breath hitched as his gaze pierced mine, trying all my might to swallow the lump on my throat. With a sharp breath, I smiled with some effort, he was probably just misunderstanding something.
"He's my best friend, we have been besties for all of high school," I rubbed his head, his grip on my arm loosened. "Don't worry, he's just a good friend."
"Can't you just stay? Is he that important than me?" He wrapped his arms around me, I patted his back reassuringly. "Stay." He leaned onto me.
"Please Aaron, I really want to-" He tightened his hug, I quickly wiggled out through the gap and stepped back. "That hurt." I mumbled, rubbing my arms which stung.
"Hannah-" his voice was dead serious.
"I want to see my friend, Aaron. I'll be back soon." I stated, shutting the door on his face. I stormed out with my heels tip-tapping behind. I hate how he doesn't let me do things that I want freely. He's a little too protective. Maybe, he loves me that much?
Guilt filled me realizing I shut the door on him after he was being so considerate. I got in the car, deciding to forget it all for awhile. I put up the map to the airport on my phone and fixed it upfront, I was new to this neighborhood afterall.
I drove, recalling that time I said yes after he confessed for the hundredth time. He was happy, he lifted me up the ground and spun me around. I wondered if that happiness was because he won the bet with his friends that he would get me to say yes for a free lunch, or maybe it was actual love.
I was confused and still am.
'You have arrived at your destination.' The voice assistant spoke.
I gently slammed the brakes to slow down, looking around for parking the car. I followed some signs indicating the way to the arrivals, and there was indeed a parking nearby. I parked in one of the spot and stepped out of the car.
I walked around a bit, trying to find him. I did see him last year or something, he wouldn't have grown taller than that nor will look much different.
"Hey." someone whispered in my ear from behind. I jumped, almost having a mini heart attack.
"The hell, Henry?" I yelled with shallow breathes, clutching my shirt. What a warm welcome.
"Just wanted to check if it's the same scaredy cat I know." He grinned, he didn't change one bit, clearly. "And you still are."
"I hate you." I shook my head dramatically for which he just gave an eye-sore eye-roll.
