You stood in the kitchen, cooking breakfast for you and Mark, having woken up quite early. It was Saturday, no responsibilities, no work, just the weekend ahead providing the perfect time to sit and reflect over everything that happened yesterday. The memories of last night kept popping up making you blush and smile to yourself each time. You'd never felt like that before since you'd lost your virginity to Josh and only ever slept with him. Josh was a very selfish lover, rarely making you finish, only ever focusing on himself. You never knew what it was like to be the priority until now.

As the bacon sizzled, Mark walked into the kitchen in his pajamas and leant on the doorframe, arms folded, watching you for a moment. "What're you doing?"

You jumped a little and turned around, clutching the spatula in your hands then relaxed as you saw Mark smiling at you. "I'm making breakfast." You said matter of factly, turning around to continue cooking. Mark approached you and sat at the kitchen island, watching you cook with his chin in his hand, leaning on the counter.

"I was gonna do that."

"Well I woke up first so..." you turned around and stuck your tongue out at him playfully. "And besides I wanted to thank you somehow. You know for..."

"For last night?" Mark smirked, standing up and opening the fridge to get himself a drink.

Your face flushed red. "I- Well, that and for letting me stay, and just sort of... well everything really."

Mark walked up to you and put a glass of juice next to you, leaning on the kitchen counter and watching your hands move as you cooked while he sipped his own drink. "It's the least I could do." He said softly. "I couldn't let you stay there with that psycho could I?"

You served up the breakfast and both of you sat at the kitchen island. You'd even made a bowl for both Chica and Henry who stood in the corner of the kitchen munching away happily, their tails wagging.

"So do you have anything planned today?" You asked with a smile. Mark thought for a moment then suddenly remembered something.

"Shit!" He hissed, standing up and grabbing his phone. "I'm supposed to be meeting up with Ethan. I'll tell him I can't make it."

"What? Why?" You asked confused.

"Because I want to be with you, I want to make sure you're okay." He said matter of factly, typing quickly on his phone.

"Hey no stop." You said quickly, reaching forward. "I'll be fine I promise please don't cancel your plans on my account."

He stopped typing then looked at you for a moment. "Do you want to come with?"

You bit your bottom lip in thought for a moment. Ethan Nestor, formerly known as CrankGameplays, the man Mark made a channel with in 2019. You loved his content and found him very cute and funny, the prospect of meeting and hanging out with him made you excited.

"Sure." You shrugged, continuing to eat your breakfast, trying to play it cool and calm.

"Awesome I'll let him know."

Shortly after breakfast, you went upstairs and got dressed, made your bed and generally made yourself look presentable. You decided to go for some blue jeans that flared out slightly at the bottom and a light, flowy, loose knit sweater that hung off one of your shoulders. Comfy but stylish.

You sat on the bed for a little while, thinking about last night. A pang of anxiety ripped through your chest as you thought about what this meant for your relationship dynamic with Mark. On one hand, you were enamoured by him and wanted to be near him and with him all the time but on the other hand you weren't sure if you were ready for another relationship, or if you even wanted to be with Mark long term as you thought about why his ex broke up with him. Being with Mark came with a lot of responsibilities and lifestyle changes that you weren't sure you would want. You decided that you'd talk to him, see where he was at and let him know that while you enjoyed having fun with him, you weren't ready for anything more. At least not for now. It felt silly talking about it but you hated the idea of accidentally sending the wrong message or being on different pages.
