A young man leans heavily on a tree, trying desperately to escape the monster that is persistently chasing him, seeking to devour his flesh. Whimpering in pain and fear, he pushes against the tree and continues to run until a root protruding from the ground trips him, causing him to fall and shout in agony. He looks behind him and sees his ankle turning black and blue already, signifying that it is sprained. He looks up and sees the monster stalking closer to him slowly, knowing its prey can't escape. The man crawls toward a tree and twists his body around to lay against, staring in terror at the monster closing in on him. "Someone...Please...Help me..." Thought the man as he closes his eyes, not wanting to watch the beast tear him apart. "Get away from him!" A sudden yell opens the man's eyes and there he sees a red haired beast-man jumping from his right side, kicking the monster in the process. The monster crashes into several trees before coming to a stop a few yards away. The man stares in shock and looks up at his savior, his back to him as his tail swishes side to side, a sign of clear aggravation. The man hold his breath as the beast-man turns towards him, showing him a set of glowing violet eyes that seems to activate him into a trance, wondering how they grew so bright, before realizing the new threat is walking towards him. "Pl-pl-please. Don't h-hurt me," pleaded the young man as he tries to scooch further into the tree, groaning at the pain in his ankle. The beast-man immediately stops approaching and slowly kneels down to his level, acting as if the man was a scared puppy. The beast-man holds out his hands in attempt to calm the young man and speaks in a soft voice, "Hey. It's okay. I'm not gonna hurt you." The beast-man tries to move closer to the man again, causing him to push even further into the tree, tears building up in eyes. The beast-man stops once more, but he is close enough that he could grab the young man if he so wishes to. "It's okay. I'm gonna help you. Don't move." The young man holds his breath and closes his eyes, expecting to be tortured. However, no pain came, instead a calming warmth spreads on his ankle, taking the hurt away. The odd sensation causes the man to slowly open his eyes. What he sees extracts a gasp from his lips as he sees a white light coming off from the beast-man hands. He stares in bewilderment while the beast-man continued to focus on healing the poor man. As the light touches the sprained ankle, the bruises slowly fade and cuts close up. Once the light disappears, all there was left is a healed ankle, showing no signs that the injury was even there. The young man looks at the beast-man's nicely toned face, curiosity dominating his fear, seeing nothing but kindness in those bright violet eyes. A slight twitch from his ears draws his attention away from the beast-man's face, seeing a bit of white at the top of his ears that slowly fade to a dark red that blends in his hair, then quickly focuses back on his face. "Wh-who are you?"
A few moments ago, Yuuya rushes through the trees, trying to reach the man before the weird shadow does. As he pushes through the last of the trees in his path, he sees the shadow more clearly. It had the body of a wolf with claws, but the head resembled a bull with a pair of large horns on its forehead. The thing had glowing red eyes and fangs that were drooling with blood and saliva. Seeing blood was one thing, however, thanks to Yuuya's keen senses he could also smell the blood, angering him at the thought that this thing hurt the poor man. "Get away from him!" Yuuya jumps and extends his leg out, kicking the monster away, momentarily forgetting his obscene strength. Once his foot makes contact to the monster's head, the monster flies into the trees, crashing into them until it was a few yards away from Yuuya and the young man. Yuuya's face twists into shock at the damage he caused. "Whoops! Forgot how strong I was. Sorry trees!" The smell of blood still lingers in the air, snapping Yuuya out of his shocked trance, and turns towards the injured man. The poor man was shaking as he tried to pull himself further into the tree. Yuuya then sees the man's sprained ankle, bruises littering the man's arms and legs, a bloody scratch on his cheek, and deep cut on his shoulder, his shirt soaking up the blood. Frowning at the various injuries, and he slowly walks towards the frightened man, causing the man to panic more. "Pl-pl-please. Don't h-hurt me," pleaded the man as he tried to crawl further into the tree, groaning in pain. Yuuya immediately stops, not wanting to frighten the man anymore nor cause him to aggravate his wounds, and kneels down to his level. Yuuya holds out his hands, trying to not intimidate the poor man, and speaks quietly, "Hey. It's okay. I'm not gonna hurt you." Sensing the man was calm enough, Yuuya tries once again to move closer to inspect his wounds, but the young man pushed himself more into the tree with unshed tears in his eyes. A stab of sadness pierces Yuuya's heart at the display and pauses his movements. "It's okay. I'm gonna help you. Don't move," said Yuuya in a calming tone and takes a closer look at his wounds. The bruises on his arms and legs were the least of his concern. Same with the cheek. The main issues were the sprained ankle and the deep cut in his shoulder. Since the man's ankle was the closest, Yuuya decides to start there. He lifts his hands up and thinks, "Heal." A warm white light flows out his hands and onto the ankle. He keeps his hands hovering over the ankle until the bruises disappeared all the way. Once healed, Yuuya dispels the light and looks up at the man's face, seeing interest in his eyes instead of fear. "Wh-who are you?" Stuttered the young man.
Yuuya blinks in surprise and smiles brightly, happy the man was starting to open up to him. "My name is Sa- I mean Yuuya. It's Yuuya. What's your name?" Corrected Yuuya, deciding it was best to use his avatar's name. A few seconds go by with the man opening and closing his mouth several times before finally finding his voice. "I-I'm Samuel." Yuuya nods his head and holds his hand out. "Nice to meet you Sam." Yuuya's hand hangs for a bit before Sam slowly brings his hand forward. He hesitates just before reaching Yuuya's hand, who has been kneeling patiently, and reaches all the way to grab the outstretched hand. Yuuya gently closes his hand over Sam's and gives it a light shake. "U-umm n-nice to meet you t-too." Yuuya's smile widens at the greeting. He calmly lets go of Sam's hand and continues to stare at Sam. He finally notices the man's features: short messy dark blue hair that could be mistaken for black, his eyes were bright green that resembled emeralds, slightly pale skin that had some tone, and a bloody scratch on his face... "Oh God! I'm staring like a creep instead of helping the poor guy. What is wrong with me!? Oh man! What would Yuuya do? I guess I need to act like him...First, let's get those wounds healed." Yuuya clears his throat with a slight blush and points at Sam's shoulder. "Um I can heal that for you if you want." Sam looks down at his shoulder and finally registers the soreness and blood oozing from the wound. He turns his head back to Yuuya, debating if he should take his offer or not. His eyes flicker to his ankle and decides to take the chance. "Umm sure. If you can..." Hearing that he has permission, Yuuya moves closer to Sam, causing him to flinch for a second but doesn't move away. Yuuya smiles at Sam and raises one of his hand up, the same warm white light flows out his palm and onto the cut. The wound glows and slowly closes up, the blood disappearing with the cut. Once healed, Yuuya moves his hand to cup Sam's injured cheek. Sam's eyes widen as Yuuya focuses on using the same magic to heal the scratch. A slight blush forms on Sam's face seeing how close and gentle Yuuya was, never seeing a beast-man ever display this type of behavior towards other species besides their own. Yuuya removes his hand and smiles at his handiwork. "There. That should be it. Unless you have any other injuries?" Questioned Yuuya at the end. Sam snaps out his daze and shakes his head. "Oh! No. I'm fine now. Thank you." Yuuya nods his head and stands up, holding out his hand to Sam. Before Sam could take his offered hand, a loud roar disrupts their peaceful atmosphere.
Yuuya quickly stands in front of Sam and holds his fists up, ready for a second round. The same monster that was kicked away walks out of the pile of fallen trees and gets into a defensive stance, intending to continue the fight. Yuuya's eyes narrow in determination, fully intent on protecting his new friend. "I guess you're a lot tougher than you look." Even though his tone was full of confidence, his inner thoughts were anything but confident. "Ohmygodohmygodohmygod! This thing isn't dead!? What the fuck!? I know my kick was strong, but this is ridiculous!" Yuuya uses his appraisal skill on the beast, seeing its stats. "Okay, let's see. Hmm...No wonder! It has strong defense on his head, however, it seems it can't handle magic nor attacks from the sides." The monster roars again before rushing towards Yuuya. Sam gasps in fear while Yuuya stands his ground. He extends his hand and created a rock wall that cracked at the monster's attack, but not quite breaking it. Yuuya uses wind magic to jump high and speed down, intending to punch the back of the monster. Sadly, the monster sensed him and jumped away from his attack. Yuuya looks up and sees the monster charging once more at him. Seeing it was coming from a short distance, Yuuya summons his dark magic and creates a swamp of gloom under the monster, halting its movements. The thing tries to escape from the trap, unfortunately, the spell was far too strong against its strength. Yuuya glares at the monster and summons a ball of fire in his hand. "I had enough of you. It's time to die!" With that said, Yuuya shoots the fireball at the monster. Once it made contact with the creature, the thing erupts into flames that rose so high into the sky, almost looking like a tornado of flames. The thing roars in pain, doubling its efforts in escaping but not moving a single inch. The flames continue to devour the monster until there was nothing but ashes. Seeing the monster destroyed, he cancels the gloom swamp and sees a strange marble in its place. Curious about the object, Yuuya goes towards the marble and picks it up. He observes the shiny green marble in his hands until Sam's voice reaches his ears. "Uhh what...did you just do?" Yuuya looks at Sam standing near the tree and tilts his head in confusion. "Was I not supposed to kill it?" Yuuya answers while swiping his eyes left and right as if the answer was pretty obvious to them. "Uhh I killed it? Was I not supposed to?" Yuuya face pales at the thought he made the wrong decision, luckily Sam waves his hands quickly. "Nonono you didn't do anything wrong! It's just...you used several types of magic. Light, earth, wind, dark, and fire. No beast-man can do that..." That leaves Yuuya even more confused. "What the? Am I not supposed to use magic?" "Was I not supposed to use magic?" Seeing how Yuuya was not understanding the situation, Sam tries to explain again, hoping to get a clear answer in the process. "Nonono that's not the issue. I mean how can you use several types of magic? You can even use light and dark magic types, beast-men can't use those magic types! I've never seen nor heard of a beast-man that could do any of that! Plus! You wolf beast-men normally have wind or earth magic." More questions keep popping above Yuuya's head as his head spin at the new information. "Ummm I don't know, I just can." "I mean I learned so many spells back in my gaming days so of course I'm familiar with several magic types." Suddenly, a thought crosses his mind as he goes back Sam's questions. "But I do want to clarify that I'm not a wolf. I'm a fox." Now Sam's head is spinning. "A fox beast-man!? There's no such thing!" "There's no such thing as a fox beast-man!" Sam voices his thoughts aloud. Yuuya frowns and simply turns around and points to his ears and tail. "Yes I am. Look at my tall ears and bushy tail." Sam opens his mouth to deny his statement, but closes it at seeing Yuuya's tail. Sam walks over to Yuuya, no longer feeling any fear of the beast-man, and takes a closer look at his ears. "He's right...No beast-man has such tall ears like his. I mean a rabbit beast-man has the tallest ears, but these seem to be the same height as a rabbit's rather than a wolf's. A wolf beast-man has shorter ears." Sam looks down and observes Yuuya's tail. "Even his tail is off. I've never seen such a long, big bushy tail before. A wolf beast-man's tail is shorter and has a hook shape. Plus the color is all different too. Both his ears and tail are white at the tips rather than just being solid red..." Sam spends a long time looking, making Yuuya the nervous one this time. As time goes on, Yuuya begins to squirm uncomfortably. "Is he done yet? I feel like I'm some kind of mystery that can't be solved..." Finally, Sam looks Yuuya in the eyes. "Okay...Before I believe you I have one last question: where did you come from?" "If he's not a normal beast-man, then that only leaves one theory..." Yuuya blinks in surprise and turns to face Sam. "Should I tell him the truth? I highly doubt he'll believe that I used to be a high school girl from world that doesn't have these freaky monsters nor magic. But I can't lie to him, I don't even know where I am...Best to start from the moment I woke up here." Yuuya takes a deep breath and replies, "I'm not really sure...I woke up in a random field next to a lake. Right over there actually." Yuuya points in the direction that he came from. Sam follows his finger and looks back at Yuuya. "That's it? You woke up in a random field? Don't you have a home or family?" Yuuya looks down, memories as Sakura filling his mind. "Yeah...I woke up in a field after..." Yuuya trails off, awkwardly rubbing his arm as his ears flatten on his head. Sam couldn't contain his curiosity. "After what?" Tears build up in Yuuya's eyes as he looks up at Sam's face. "After...I died."
