4.2 Seeing Doubles

The team at S.T.A.R. Labs all looked at Barry in astonishment, amazement, and confusion. Caitlin was taking his vitals, comparing him to both the data on Y/N's speed as well as the DNA structure of their Barry. Cisco was having a ball, running his hands through his hair with a large grin.

Cisco: This is so sick! So the multiverse is real? That completely changes the way we interpret the many worlds theory as well as dimensional foundations!

Y/N: That's what I was saying!

The two high fived each other with glee. Wells shook his head while Cisco went back to asking questions.

Cisco: What's it like over on your Earth? Does S.T.A.R. Labs still exist? Have you ever encountered a psychic gorilla? Is Star Wars still a thing? Am I a millionaire? 

Barry: Yes, yes, yes, and no.

Cisco pouted, somewhat upset by that last answer.

Barry: On the surface level, my Earth seems to be very similar to yours, at least it has more in common than it does with Earth 2.

Y/N: Earth 2?

Barry: It's another Earth, not important. Wildly different style and technology. You ever read H.G. Wells?

Y/N: I've always been more of a Tolkien fan.

Caitlin finished with her readings, taking the blood pressure monitor off of Barry's arm.

Caitlin: You appear to have the exact same metabolic rate as Y/N while also having the same blood type and DNA structure as our Barry. You also have a slightly faster speed and energy output than Y/N.

Barry: Yeah. There was this... incident back on my Earth a couple months back. I ended up having a talk with the Speed Force and regaining my powers.

The four people looked at him in confusion. Allen noticed their puzzled expressions.

Barry: What?

Y/N: What's the Speed Force?

Barry: Wh... You guys don't know about the Speed Force?

They all shook their heads. Barry turned to Y/N to explain.

Barry: Basically, it's like this other layer of reality that is somewhat sentient. It uses speedsters like us to act as its conduit, channeling energy and giving us our powers.

Y/N shook his head in disbelief.

Y/N: Wait, are you telling me, that for the past two years, I have been unknowingly acting as a lightning rod for a spiritual force of nature?

Barry: Yeah, basically. I had a talk with the Speed Force which took on the appearance of my mother.

Y/N: I... You know what? Why not?! With all the weird shit we've encountered over the years, why am I even surprised?

Caitlin: Alright, calm down. Watch that blood pressure, hot fuzz.

Y/N: I am, cool breeze.

The two chuckled playfully at their little interaction. Both Cisco and Wells rolled their eyes while Barry looked between the two of them in confusion. Just then, another figure waltzed down the hallway and made his way into the lab.

Barry: Hey, guys, you called about...

He froze when he looked up and got the shock of a lifetime. There was another version of himself standing right there wearing a red suit. The two looked at each other in surprise while the other three men also stood there in confusion.
