"DO YOU MELODIE JACKS TAKE THIS WOMAN TO BE YOUR LAWFULLY WEDDED WIFE, to live together in matrimony, to love her, comfort her, honour and keep her, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, to have and to hold, from this day forward, as you long as you both shall live?" The officiant asks melodie, her eyes focused on her soon to be wife infront of her; both women seemingly unable to stop smiling."I do."
"and do you, demi bennett, take this-"
hold on a minute.
This does infact not belong here, this goes way later on. This story is what some would call an 'emotional rollercoaster'. Poor melodie really goes through it, but it all works out well in the end.
Back in 2010, the moment melodie's life began to take a first class train to the cheerless cul-de-sac, located in tragic town, was when she came began to come to the realisation that she is infact, not who her parents want her to be. However, on the much happier and more colourful side, her relationship with her bestfriend - rebecca quin, A.K.A becky lynch - becomes stronger than ever.
Then, when she was 21 - in 2018 - she made her wrestling debut on NXT by competing in the by competing in the first Mae Young Classic; and cut it incredibly close to winning, losing to Toni Storm.
She was then signed to WWE later on in the year, and has since been in a tag team with her bestfriend, who on screen is known as Becky Lynch. Then, drafted to the Raw brand shortly later. Present day, she's one of the most talented women in her division; known for her shit talking and her cat like agility in the ring.
And at this current moment, she's at her families house for her siblings birthday. And Jacks Family events never go well. Like today.
"So, Melodie, still forcing yourself to be different?" Her mom asks as she slides a slice of her sister's birthday cake across the table to her dad. She crosses her arms over her chest as she leans back in her chair while her mom speaks to her, "yes mother, im still wrestling." She responds. Her mom slides over her slice of cake, noticeably smaller than the others she's cut and given out. "Im not even going to ask why my slice is a lot smaller." She says slightly quieter.
"Speak up or don't speak at all." Her dad tunes in.
"Mom, dad, just leave her alone for one day, just one." Max - her sibling - interjects. Melodie's lips curling up into a smile as Max tries their best to defend her, for what seems like the millionth time.
"If you didn't want me here, mother, father, you could have just not invited me, like you didn't for uncle camerons wedding." Melodie speaks while cutting off a piece of her cake with the side of her fork and shortly inserting it into her mouth.
"You claim not to believe in god, we assumed you wouldn't want to come to his wedding anyway."
"Uncle cameron is probably one of the few people in this family who has treated me like a human, with her own conscience, her own ability to make decisions. Of course i would like to be there, and his now wife is incredibly sweet to." Melodie explains in response, keeping her tone level and her emotions in control; as best she can anyway. Her mother sits down again after handing around the plates of cake, a slight scowl shaping her features.
Something that isn't rare for her. Especially at family gatherings.
"I really do sometimes feel you only come here to stir up trouble, and create problems that you don't need to." Her mother says as she dabs the sides of her mouth with her napkin after she takes the last bite of her cake. A scoff leaves Melodies lips, followed by a brief yet incredibly sarcastic laugh. If you could even call it a laugh.
