"I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE, ADRIANA," cecelia announces, her voice muffled by the cubicle door as she presses her hands into fists and pounds against it. Inside the cubicle, adriana remains silent, standing but hunched over, clutching her stomach. cecelia releases a defeated sigh from the other side of the door and softens her tone. "it's just me. you can come out."

adriana, still feeling uneasy, struggles with a queasy feeling in her stomach. despite trying to calm herself with gentle breathing and clutching her stomach, the feeling doesn't subside. "i think i'm gonna be sick," she mumbles, her voice shaky and uncertain, yet loud enough for cecelia to hear.

cecelia rattles on the handle once more, "i'm serious, adriana. let me in," she commands, her hands moving at a rapid speed until the cubicle was swung open. adriana had straightened her body but only on the slightest but her hand remained on her stomach and her face was concerningly pale.

"did you know?" she mutters but she already has her answer since she can practically see the guilt eating cecelia alive. she wants to shout, cry or physically vomit but none of those things happen, she hasn't felt this way since her and chris's breakup and everything that she was currently feeling only reminded her of that dreadful night even more. "why didn't you tell me that he's back?"
