Capture The Flag With Barbies

“Hey Liz” I hear Blake yell. I turn around and plaster a smile on my face, and walk toward him “hey, Blake didn’t see you there” I said. “Yea, so how is it in the new cabin with my girlfriend” he asked. “Great” I say with a hint of sarcasm that even he should have caught.  There’s an awkward silence that’s equal as unbearable as the staring, and like that I can’t handle it. “Well, I’m going to go get ready for lunch and then capture the flag” I said as I already start to walk away. Before I get far I feel Blake grab my wrist and spin me back towards him. His eyes starting intensely into mine “Be careful” he said almost to himself. He lets me go and I walk away fast.

That what I did most of the time just walked around until it was time for lunch. Which was very quiet at first, I talked a little with this girl named Ariel. She was ok not so much like the Barbie’s. I got along with the boys most of the time, which they were not so shallow.  Near the end I scrap a portion of my food into the fire as an offering to Aphrodite. I’m hoping she will guide me through capture the flag and the quest.  After everyone’s done we all head out for a capture the flag.

We walk out into a big field where all the shields, sword, and armor were placed out. We all crowd around Chiron ready for the word. Me, I was confused. Chiron speaks up for all of us to hear him “Hero’s, get into your teams” he said while everyone either ran to the red side or the blue. I just stood there looking at both sides as people ran past me then it was clear I was the last one standing in the middle. Chiron gallops up to me and puts a hand on my shoulder “your teams over there” he said pointing over to the red side where all my half-brothers and sisters stand. The two teams were Athena, Apollo and Hermes VS Dionysus, Demeter, Aphrodite, Ares and Hephaestus and all the other campers were spread out between the two.

Thank the Gods; Blake isn’t on my team now all I have to worry about is Angelica.  We put on the armor and pick out weapons. I look for one but, come out empty handed until I see it. A shiny silver sword with the perfect tip and on the handle is two gold bells. My hand reaches out for it, but so does another hand that gets it before me. That hand belongs to Angelica. She turns around with a sinister smile it makes me so mad I almost pick up the sword next to my foot and stab her with it. But instead I just pick the sword up and walk away because I’m a good person.

Everyone is all suited up and plans are based out we stand around looking ready to run into the woods. Chiron steps up and looks around he smiles at our anxiety. The horn blows and we run off. I follow behind the other Aphrodite kids. We see no enemy’s the whole run. Then all of a sudden we stop and I run into the boy infront of me. Two kids of Ares step forward to guard the flag. Then make signal for us to move away. That’s when I notice only the Aphrodite cabin was near the flag. The other cabin must have gone off somewhere. We circle around trying to get distance from the flag and stay out of site. Then we just stop and stand there looking stupid. I see Drew a couple of steps away and walk toward her “why are we just standing here?” I ask. She gives me a look like I’m stupid  “The Aphrodite cabin always waits for someone to get near the flag it’s the rest of the cabin job to not let the other get close to here” she said. Now that was stupid “so we basically don’t do anything” I ask, Drew sighs “here’s something you can do Hun, just stand there and try to look pretty” she said.

I’m not in the mood to argue right now so I just walk away. I see a smirk on Angelica’s face that little… It feels like nothing’s happening, but you can hear all the action. I’m tired of just standing there so I lean close to a tree far from the flag. That’s when I see it Blake and a kid from his team battling on of the Ares kids. I rush back to tell the news. I find Drew first and tell her “there are some people ready to get close to the flag”. She looks at me like she just noticed I was there “and, what do you want us to do about it” she said. There was no time for that I would have to do this on my own. I run back to be close to the flag, but covered by trees. I already wasted a lot of time. I saw when Blake walked into the clearing next to Angelica. She did not do a thing to stop them instead she dropped her sword like a good girlfriend.
