"You know you don't have to watch me?" I sucked my teeth, looking at Nick, who stared up at the ceiling.
"See Ant told me to watch you, he said that you sneaky." He laughed.
"Do y'all do this all the time? Kidnap women? And hold them against their will?" I questioned, wiping and then flushing the toilet.
"Naw, nobody is holding you against yo will. What you tryna say?" He frowned.
"Your friend is so sick. How is he gonna kidnap me and take me away from my life? And then he expects me to fall in love with him within a year, please, that'll never happen." I snickered.
"I'm glad you find this shit funny. Yo ass just putting on, you'll fall in love with my boy." Nick chuckled softly.
"How do you know?"
"Cause I know, whatever Ant wants he gets. I have been friends with this nigga since the sandbox days. He's my brother, I know him." He answered. "So that lil act ain't gone last."
"Whatever." I pushed past him, walking into the bedroom. "What are you gonna do, watch me sleep too?"
"You not finna sleep, we gotta go watch ant's game, so slip on yo shoes and let's go." He demanded.
"You ain't my daddy, you or Anthony Edwards, I go on my own time," I remarked, slipping my feet into my Ugg boots. I wore one of Anthony's Adidas hoodies and the pants to match, his clothes made me look bummy.
"Man, whatever just gone."
"Hollon, I gotta get the keys." He said and I just took a run for it. Fuck that, Instead of taking the elevator I took the stairs. I couldn't do it, because it took them forever to come. Plus if he gets on the elevator, So I took my time going down the stairs so when I get down there, I can watch his dumb ass look for me.
I took the exit which led to the staff parking lot. "They ain't finna find me, I needa phone and I needa get home."
"Shit you can try to run, I can always find you, Kyla."
Anthony's words struck my mind.
He's going to find me omg.
What if he kills me?
I spent my time walking around downtown, thinking really hard. He's definitely going to kill me. I might as well take my own life at this point.
Hours later, after the sky was dark, I roamed the streets, it had to be 8 o'clock or something. See I want my old life back, where I had a job and where I didn't have to deal with any of this.
"Hey are you that young woman, that man Ant has been looking for? He said you were a friend of his, you gotta come with me." A brown skin man said scaring the shit out of me.
He sent some people to look for me?
"AYE THERE SHE GO!" I saw Nick and that's when I almost peed on myself, they were down the sidewalk, hell Anthony wasted no time.
"Man bring yo ass!" Anthony demanded. "Why I gotta hear that you escaped?"
"I don't wanna go." I cried softly. His angry faced softened up.
"C'mere man."
"No you're gonna hit me."
"No I'm not, I would never." He sighed calmly. "Ion know what it's gone take for you to understand Kyla." His voice was low and dangerous, sending shivers down my spine.
"I'm not a prisoner here, Anthony," I replied, my voice steady despite my nervousness. "I should be free to come and go as I please. You can't make me do anything I don't wanna do."
"Man just get in the car and we'll talk." He pinched his nose, to control his temper. I walked slowly to the car and got in the backseat.
"You not free to go anywhere until you accept yo place by my side," He growled. "And don't think Ion know bout yo lil act with Nick here. He told me everything and you gone let me in, that's why I'm giving you a year. Keep on disrespecting me, ima show you sum."
"Even if that's true, it doesn't change the fact that I don't belong here," I asserted. "My life is back home, with my family and my boyfriend. You could've took any bitch in the whole wide world but you decided to take me. I dunno what for I'm boring. You have hoes that throw themselves at you daily,"
Anthony's eyes flashed with annoyance, but he maintained his confident stance. "Yo boyfriend?" He scoffed. "Devon, is it? That nigga don't even love you, Kyla. He can't give you the life I can offer. You meant for so much more than that broke ass nigga."
It's Devontay nigga.
I felt my anger rising, goading me into a response. "And what life is that, Anthony? Being your captive? Your trophy? Because that's all I've experienced so far! You may think you own me, but my heart isn't so easily won nigga."
His gaze darkened, and for a moment, I thought I saw a flicker of uncertainty in his eyes. But it was quickly replaced with determination. "Oh, I know yo heart is resisting me, Kyla," He said, his voice softer now, laced with an underlying threat. "That lil act gone be gone after while, ima wear you down shawty."
Wear me down?
His words struck a chord deep within me, striking fear and curiosity simultaneously. I wanted to deny his claim, but something in his tone suggested that he spoke the truth. A part of me knew that the more I struggled, the more determined he would become. Anthony relished the chase, and my defiance only fueled his obsession.
As we bickered back n forth, the tension in the car thickened. Anthony's gaze held mine, unwavering and intense. I searched his eyes for any sign of weakness, any indication that my resistance was affecting him. But all I found was a steely determination.
Anthony just looked at me a slight smirk playing at the corners of his mouth. "I have no intention of forcing you to do anything, Kyla," He said, his voice calm and collected once more. "But make no mistake, you will come to me willingly, eventually. Until then, I guess we'll just have to wait and see how long you can hold out."
With that being said, the car fell silent.
"I dunno why you want me, you have plenty of groupies and hoes that can easily fall in love with you. I'm not interesting, I'm boring." I said crossing my arms.
"That's why I want you." He laughed.
"Like I said that lil act gone be gone in a month."
