It has been many years with him in power... his rein with his partner... his wife.
Or at least that's what people assume, behind palace doors, he was a power hungry maniac.
Stepping on whoever gets in his way, no matter if he loved them.
Evelyn glared at her husband with pure hatred as he pushed her face away in disgust of her affections "Greedy thing, aren't you?" He mocks
Her glare hardens on him as he continued degrading her "your mine, and you still want affection to prove it? I give you everything!" He boasts.
He notices her look and his expression softens slightly. He releases her face and wraps his arms around her, pulling closer to him. There is still possessiveness in his actions, but it is mixed with tenderness.
"What's with that look, my love?" He asks, his voice still with a possessive edge but softer this time.
"You don't like that I marked you as mine?"
His words sent a chill down Evelyn's spin as she admits quietly "I am greatful but I want you back..."
The husband froze for a moment, his eyes going cold and hard. He pulled back from the hold slightly, his arms still around but his grip tightened, almost as if he was resisting the urge to pull closer.
"What do you mean?" He asked coldly.
"Before all of THIS!" She snaps and hints to the throne room they currently are talking in. Attempting to push him off her, "I want my Corvus back! Not this... power hungry, rude..." she let out a growl of frustration.
Corvus stumbled back a little bit as she pushed him off her; his anger surged through him at the words, but there was also something else. Hurt. A mixture of both.
"THIS is me!" He snapped back.
"No!" She yells back, heart breaking.
"My Corvus, yes he wanted power but he wouldn't step on people he loved for it!" Evelyn snaps and turns to leave the room.
Corvus' jaw clenched as she turned away from him. He wanted to stop her, to pull her back to him and demand her to stay. But the anger he felt was overriding every other emotion he felt at the moment. Especially the hurt.
"You don't even know what you're talking about." He said coldly. "You have no idea what I've been through. "
A part of him wanted to keep arguing but another part of him just wanted her to leave.
"Just go."
Evelyn freezes at the door and look back at him, "I don't know the extent- but I know what happened to you, I... helped you because I thought you deserved better... But I didn't think I would lose you in the process."
She growls with a glare and then leaves out the throne room, slamming the door in the process.
Corvus stared at the door, heart felt like it had been stabbed through at her words. He stood there, frozen, as he watched her leave the throne room.
He wanted to go after Evelyn; to apologize. To beg for forgiveness. But he couldn't. He couldn't bring himself to do it.
He was a monster now, a monster that only cared for his own well being and power. A monster that didn't deserve someone as kind and selfless as his wife.
Evelyn storms to their chambers and looked at her reflection in the mirror, "Screw this..." she growled and starts shoving clothes into a bag.
Corvus had made his way to the door and leans hearing the rustling of things in their room. He opens the door and his eyes narrow "What are you doing?!" He yells.
