Oh my! A new chapter? So soon? Oh my goodness, how lucky. Yep, that's right! New chapter so soon! Please enjoy the chapter!
The day had been excruciatingly boring. Thankful to be able to go home, I waved at Becca and walked to my car. It was a bit beat up but at least it worked. I finally got a car after a year of saving money. Sure it wasn't in the best condition but if it got me to where I needed to go then I wouldn't be the one complaining. As I drove back to my apartment, I was really wishing my car had a radio so that it wouldn't be so quiet.
I pulled into the parking garage and exited the vehicle. I locked it and walked towards the elevator. As I walked onto my floor, I saw Mr. Henry. My 60 something year old neighbor. He was struggling to open the door with his hands full of bags from the supermarket a few blocks down. I walked over towards him and offered to help. He accepted easily and I grabbed the bags from him and he unlocked his door. I helped carry in the bags and said my goodbyes before heading next door to my small place.
When I said it was small, I meant it. It was only one bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen, and a living space with an arm chair and small TV. I walk into my room and grab my suit and put it into a duffel bag in case we end up having to go out and fight tonight. I tidied my hair and set off towards Koa's place.

Koa at least had a really nice house compared to her small apartment. I walked up to the door and knocked. A few seconds later, Koa answered the door.
"Ashlyn! Glad you could make it! Please, come in. The others are already here and are at the table." Koa gestured to let her know to come in. He closed the door behind her and walked with her to the dining table.
Great, last one here. I thought, seeing the other two already seated at the table. I hated to be last. The two, Brielle and Luis, were eating steak from their plate of steak, mashed potatoes, and carrots. I saw that the other two seats had plates of their own, one with the mashed potatoes already touched.
She saw Koa take that seat and dig once more into his potatoes. She took the only remaining seat left and carefully picked up her fork to take a bite of meat. She was the youngest and newest member here. The original three turned to four with her addition. Of course the city of Leywood didn't know they added a fourth, seeing as I'm invisible for the most parts during the fights. Which probably also means the villains don't know that I'm a part of the group.
I sat between Brielle and Koa. Luis was sitting across from me. We sat there eating our food for a few minutes before Koa broke the silence.
"So does anyone have any ideas for dealing with the villains?" He said, setting his fork down on his plate.
"I think I have an idea and I know it's risky and all, but, what if we send you, Ashlyn, to follow them to their base? You know, to find their identities?" Brielle suggested, glancing in my direction.
Everyone was now looking at me which made me uncomfortable. I looked down at my plate and picked at the remaining food.
"You don't have to do it if you're not comfortable with it. Plus you only just joined the group, what, two weeks ago? Anyway it's one-hundred percent your decision." Koa said, trying to reassure me.
"I'll... give it some thought this upcoming week. Next time we meet I promise I'll have an answer." I say hesitantly.
"Well it's better than no answer. I just hate to pressure people into things.'' Brielle said, taking a sip of water.
"While I do think that Brielle has a good plan, I don't think it's the absolute safest seeing as Ashlyn has only just joined the team. Sending her in head first isn't the smartest plan since she could easily burn out her powers. I know that if she burns out she'll still stay invisible, but if she gets into trouble, she won't be able to teleport out. What would we do if that happened?" Luis brought up a really good point.
Sure I would just stay invisible till I regained my energy, but if I got into trouble while burned out, then what? I wouldn't be able to teleport out if my energy gets burnt out. I guess I would just have to be careful if that did happen because if I accept, it could help out the team so much, possibly even stopping the villains for good.
"I get what you're saying, Luis, but I think I'm going to do it. I mean, think of the advantage we'll have if we find who they are." I say looking into Luis's brown eyes.
"Only if you're absolutely sure. We'll get in touch with you as soon as we get in another fight. You'll play your normal role and aid us in battle. As soon as the villains start to retreat, follow them. I'll give you an earpiece so we can keep in contact. If you happen to lose them, return to the group and we'll try once more in a different fight. If you succeed, then talk to us through the ear piece to let us know not to wait for you to come back." Koa explained, creating the plan on the spot.
I nodded and we all finished the evening, chatting. Before everyone left that evening, Koa went to his office and grabbed us all an ear piece of our own. It felt so surreal to be in a group with the heroes, and even crazier, I had just got her my mission.
