Part two; trouble

Nyla voiced her concern, "Lucy, the FBI doesn't show up for normal cases, okay, what is going on?" "I know, it's not just a normal case, and it's a lot. But that does not change the fact that I cannot tell you guys anything," Lucy replied, her frustration evident as she struggled to keep the details of the situation to herself. The room fell silent.

"Lucy, the FBI doesn't work with the normal police, and definitely not with a rookie" Grey added now leaning over her table "I got that okay, it isn't work related but they need my help" Lucy responded and Grey backed off, seeing the pain in her eyes "Chen, you've been on the job for a few months, what do you mean they need you?!" Tim raised his voice "Are you not listening? This has nothing to do with my position as a cop okay, it's something in my personal life so drop it" Lucy raised her voice back.

The tension in the room was palpable as Tim's voice echoed off the walls. Lucy's jaw clenched as she fought to maintain her composure, her mind racing with conflicting emotions. "Tim, calm down," Grey interjected, attempting to diffuse the escalating situation. But Tim wasn't backing down. "No, I won't drop it," he insisted, his frustration boiling over. "You need to tell us right now WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON."

Lucy took a deep breath, her hands trembling slightly as she wrestled with her internal turmoil. She glanced around the room, meeting the eyes of her fellow officers, each one awaiting an explanation. "It's personal," she began, her gaze fixed on Tim. "It's complicated. And none of your business" Lucy added "Lucy!" Tim repeated "Will you just please shut up!" Lucy's outburst silenced the room, her anger palpable and raw.

"Officer Chen?!" Grey added. Tim felt a pang of guilt and regret wash over him. He had never seen Lucy in such a vulnerable state, and the sight of her brokenness shook him to the core. But Lucy wasn't finished. "Stop it," she continued, her voice trembling with emotion. "This is about my personal life, which you have absolutely no business in, okay." "Look, I know it's a weird situation but-" Lucy tried but Tim stood up "Weird?! The FBI just reached out to you, you were all over them and now you can't tell us what happened!" Tim added.

"What part of it is not your business do you not understand?" Lucy added as she also stood up "Why, why is it none of my business Lucy?" He asked as he sat down, and Lucy felt silent. Tim's persistence grated on Lucy's nerves, exacerbating her already fragile emotional state, hearing her husband and father of her child was missing and now everyone was shouting at her became too much as she held back tears "leave me alone and drop it!" Lucy added "But Luc-" Tim tried again "Drop it Tim, I do not need you snooping into my past alright" Lucy added her voice strained with emotion as tears rolled down her face.

She wiped her tears and looked at Grey again "Alright, let's move on with roll call" Grey added seeing how much the sudden news had broken Lucy. "Sir" Tim tried once more "Bradford, you hold it and I do not want to hear from Lucy after shift that you pressed her about anything" Grey said sternly and Tim sighed "Am I clear?" He added "Yes sir" Tim replied and they finished roll call. "I need to call someone, I'll be by the shop in ten" Lucy said as she walked out of the roll call room "No you won't" Tim replied "I'll see you in ten!" Lucy repeated sternly and walked away, she called Jason's Captain, Adam, which she also knew well.

"Alright there's nothing we can do Tim" Grey said as they stood there "What the hell is going on?!" Tim said, sounding defeated, "Hey Lucy, how are you holding up?" He answered his phone "Alright, but I could really use your help Adam" Lucy replied "Yeah, of course what do you need?" He answered "you need to clear everyone off of my personal file, make it classified" Lucy replied "What?, yeah I can do that but why may I ask" he replied "My boss and TO will do anything in their power to figure out why the FBI is talking to a rookie and I can't have them figuring out about Jason and Jenna" Lucy replied.

"Wait they don't know?" "No, if they knew my husband is a legend at the FBI they are going to treat me differently" Lucy responded and he smiled "Always the responsible woman, yes I will put someone on your file" He replied "Thank you so much, I have to go but please call me if there's any progress" Lucy added "I will, promise" he replied and they hung up. Lucy took a moment to calm herself down, leaning against the table and briefly looking over the file they had given her.

After collecting her thoughts she got the war bag's "Lucy are you alright?!" Nolan asked as she walked up to them "No, I'm really not" She whispered and walked towards the shop. And Tim and Lucy drove off in silence. "If you are not going to tell me what is going on, I'm going to find out myself" Tim said after their first quiet hour and Lucy smiled "No you won't" she added and Tim looked distraught.

"Lucy, what are you talking about?" Tim added "Find out yourself, but good luck" Lucy replied and looked out of the window, they kept quiet the morning. *at Lunch* "So do we know more?" Angela asked Tim as he sat next to her. "Nope, absolutely nothing" Tim added. "Why can't you tell us anything?" Jackson asked as Lucy sat down "It's classified Jackson, it's an ongoing investigation" Lucy replied "Are you under investigation?" Nolan asked, worried.

"No, It's not about me, I can't tell you more" Lucy added and they ate in silence, until Lucy was called. Everyone looked at her as she stood up "I need to take this sorry" She said and walked away "Hey Ben, do we have any updates?" Lucy answered the phone. "Hey, no i'm sorry, I called because we are going to secure vulnerable persons so we need to keep Jenna in a safe home for now." Ben added and Lucy sighted "Shit" She added and everyone overheard and frowned.

"Lucy, I know it's hard but it's just temporary" Ben added "Alright, ehh so what, are you going to pick her up at daycare or what?" Lucy whispered "Yeah, if that's alright?" Ben asked "Yeah of course but she is not going to come with you unless she hears my voice so call me when you get her" Lucy replied with her hands in her hair "Yeah, the whole stranger danger thing, I'll call when we get there" Ben replied and hung up, Lucy sat down again "what's wrong boot?" Tim shouted at her "still none of your business" Lucy replied and Angela grinned.

"Is everything alright?" Jackson added "Yeah, it's fine" Lucy said and finished lunch. They stood up and when Lucy got into the shop Ben called her "Shit" She said and Tim looked up "Can you please wait one minute, I need to take this" Lucy asked "Take it in the shop" Tim said and got in "No-,...alright" Lucy replied, sighted and got in the shop and answered the phone "Hey, Jenna is here, say hi please" Ben answered "Hey mommy!" Jenna said over the phone "Hey, go with Ben alright,?" Lucy said trying to hold her posture in front of Tim, Lucy heard Jenna cry over the phone and her heart broke.

"Ben, take her, I'll talk to her after shift okay" Lucy added, Jenna still crying in the background "Lucy, she is frantic" Ben replied, holding Jenna in his arms and Lucy sighted "Alright, If Jack can't help take her to Adam, he will know what to do" Lucy replied "Yeah, okay thanks, see you soon" Ben replied and hung up. "Who is Adam?" Tim asked "Yeah, not happening he is a nobody to you" Lucy replied "You know i'm just trying to help Lucy, I don't want to push you?" Tim replied and looked at Lucy who looked totally lost.

"I know and thank you, but I just... can't talk to you about it" Lucy replied and Tim nodded. They ended shift and Lucy went to the safe house "Hey baby girl" Lucy said as Jenna ran to her from Adam's lap. She picked her up, "Where's daddy?" Jenna asked and "He is going to be away for a bit alright?" Lucy responded, Adam walked over to her and gave her a hug "Thank you for looking out for her" Lucy replied with tears in her eyes "Hey baby, will you go play with your toys for me, i'll be right here" Lucy said and put Jenna on the ground "What do we know?" Lucy asked as she sat down with him.
