LUKE WAS ASLEEP, sprawled across the sofa with Obie's head on his chest, the dog squeezed between the man and the back of the sofa, when Maya returned from the grocery store. She wasn't surprised to find him like this – a few of his nights at the theatre turned into quite late nights, where he thought it was a lot more important for Maya to go to bed and get a full night of good sleep, than it was for himself to get undressed before crashing onto the mattress ( only the night before he'd crashed into bed and fallen asleep, still halfway dressed ). Besides, Luke wasn't a stranger to napping, and it wasn't news to Maya ( or anyone else that knew him ) that he could fall asleep literally anywhere.
