Prologue:
Annabeth felt her blood turn to stone. "Annabeth, open up!" Percy yelled, banging on the bathroom door. "I know you're in there! Please, just tell me what's wrong!"
The stick fell out of Annabeth's hands and clattered onto the floor. Hurriedly, she picked it up and flushed it down the toilet. Forcing herself not to think about it, she unlocked the door to face her boyfriend.
Percy was the sweetest boyfriend anyone could ask for. He only cared about Annabeth, and she knew he would do anything for her--even fall to the deepest abyss in Hades, Tartarus. Which he had already done.
"Are you okay?" Percy asked, wrapping Annabeth in a hug.
"I'm fine." Annabeth said. "Just a bit tired." Lies. Her mind whispered.
"Are you sure?" Percy asked. "I can Iris Message Chiron to say that we're not going back to Camp because you're sick--"
"I'm okay." Annabeth smiled, then reached up to kiss Percy's cheek. "You don't have anything to be worried about."
But the truth was, he did have to be worried about Annabeth. And his unborn child...
