I feel like we've been sitting outside this office for hours.
After what happened during the mission, or should I say, what I did during the mission, the Bureau board ordered a meeting with Elian and Kamari since they're the leaders of our division to discuss what went down. What I caused.
I feel so bad for having possibly gotten them in trouble, especially Elian. He keeps telling me that it wasn't my fault and that I'm just not used to using and controlling my powers as much but I feel like he's just been saying that to be nice and to have pity on me. This whole thing has ruined any plans, any notions of me seeing him later tonight. I check the time on my phone and see that it's currently 2:03 a.m., so yep. Any plans we could've had have completely gone out the window.
This sucks. Delilah has just been glaring at me this entire time. I'm so sick of her attitude toward me and just when I think it'd stop or at the very least slow down, this mishap of mine seems to have given her more ammunition to dislike me or at least make me believe that she dislikes me. It's so shitty, sometimes I wish that I could ram one of her own icicles down her throat and watch her choke on it. I'd never actually do it of course.. Well.. No, I wouldn't.
Kiyo breaks the silence when she holds Clarke's knee down and keeps him from continuing to bounce his foot up and down, "We get it, you're a speedster. Stop giving me a migraine." She groans.
"Sorry, it's just been a while since they've called us like this, usually we're so on top of our game. Today, we were just not."
"Yeah, gee, I wonder why." Delilah turns to me, her arms crossed as she gives me an icy smile. I roll my eyes at her and lean back into my seat.
"Lilah, stop. It wasn't Dani's fault, it was all of us. We win and lose as a team. Plus, we weren't expecting.." Orion begins before Ivy finishes his sentence.
"We weren't expecting Sephyr to be there," She deadpans, staring at the floor. I think she's the most affected by him showing up, I've never seen her this detached and upset. She's been in this state ever since we left the club, "We always plan to be ready for the five, not the six." Kiyo rubs her back comfortingly but she doesn't seem to respond.
"It was so surprising. I had honestly forgotten that he's with them, that's how little I've ever seen him actually in battle as one of.. As one of them." Zade adds, fidgeting in his seat uncomfortably.
"The look in his eyes.. I looked at him and I could barely even fathom that the guy I've known practically all my life could just.." Benjamin laments, shaking his head, "I always thought he'd come back eventually.. Him and Mea, that we'd have our friends back and this would all be revealed to be some covert and deep undercover mission."
The silence falls upon us all again before Benjamin speaks again, "Lilah, you know your dad. What do you think he's saying in there?"
Delilah quirks her lips to the side and shrugs, "Knowing Daddy? I don't know what he's saying. That's my dad, hot one day, cold the next." She sighs, sitting back in her chair.
The doors open and out come Elian and Kamari, who have seemingly perplexed expressions on their faces. Kamari opens her mouth first, "The bad news first.. The Bureau's Board has officially declared that Sephyr Kohn and Mea Delgado are no longer rogue agents, but criminals who shall be brought to justice." She explains. Ivy winces upon hearing that, clutching the sides of her chair and bowing her head down, her eyes shut tight.
"The better news? Uh.. We've pretty much been let go," Kami continues, and confused expressions come from everyone else, "we basically have Danielle to thank, because of her, we now have a mission based on what she displayed earlier."
