Y/n had spent her first few weeks of summer in the country with her grandparents— she loved them to death but she hated the heat and the fact bugs were literally everywhere.
She had work to do almost everyday and barely got to experience the rest of the town, but luckily tonight she could. It was something of a fair/ rodeo— there was gonna be games and such but she had no friends to go with.
She hesitated but thought it would be fun to meet new people. Y/n hardly ever had trouble keeping a conversation going.
" just be safe, and don't go with anyone!" her grandma, debbie said with a stern look. She rolled her eyes and took a seat on the couch next to her, " I won't granny. I'll be back before you and papa know it" she assured and leaned against the older lady.
She was embraced tightly by the woman before she nodded. " what time are you gonna go?" Debbie questioned while the girl stood up, she had on short jean shorts and flannel with boots. She planned on tying it later at the fair and popped it open some. " around 8" she replied
" Lea's gonna tag along with you so you won't be alone" she added before the girl went up the stairs, she silently cheered before jogging up them completely. Lea was y/n's older cousin, just by a few months but she was always down for whatever.
It wasn't long before lea showed up. She spent a few minutes with her papa outside and some with her granny, after that she was all ears to whatever ideas y/n had. " okay. We're gonna go and be sexy cowgirls and let all the sexy country dudes come get us" she smiled and shows the girl how she was gonna wear her shirt.
Lea gave her a nod with a small smirk. " I fucks with it, just let me see the guy and send me your location" she stated before they did a few more touch ups and went downstairs. Debbie was a little nervous with y/n going out but it was a little less stressful with Lea being with her.
" be safe! No strangers im serious y/n." Debbie stated again while y/n rolled her eyes, she turned to her grandma and nodded. " I won't granny gosh!" She laughed and got in the car. They pulled out the dirt road and road on it for a few minutes longer until they reached the main road.
By the time they made it there, it was filled with just the right amount of people. Y/n stuck close to her cousin while they walked inside, she noticed a few boys but none really stuck out until she saw one sitting with his friends.
