Ch.81 [ Ugly Tree Root ]

"How about-" 

"Close that fucking portal, and we have a deal." He got cut-off by the squirrel as it pointed in direction where the portal to realm which stored his house was.

"That's all?"

"I value my privacy, and it's too close to one of places Nidhogg likes her children to be at." He said fixing his fur. William only turned to the portal and back to the rodent.

"Can I close it after checking things out at bottom?" "Fine by me, but don't blame me if Nidhogg shats at you with her poison."

Earning final approval the two started descending as William followed the squirrel with exact same path.

Finally descending into roots of Yggdrasil, the two only found Nidhogg half-fused with Yggdrasil. And quite spacious area around "Take a look, just don't anger her. We both don't want her to pew-pew at us." The squirrel pointed, but William noticed something strange... Inside Nidhogg 'Parasite?' he thought and in an instant boosted himself up to Nidhogg and grabbed her scales.

"What are you doing!?" He heard a shout from Ratatoskr, but there was absolutely no reaction from the black dragon. "She's dead asleep." William spoke and lifted Ratatoskr with gravitational power.

"Wait... Sweetie, what's wrong?" He sounded quite worried while William scanned her body, but he couldn't go far as the Yggdrasil was clearly refusing him. "Who did this to you?" Ratatoskr stared at her and then turned to William "Can you fix her?"

"I can try, but I'm not sure if- Wait. She'll be reborn even if I'd destroy this part since she's fused with the tree, right?" He asked the rodent as it nodded a bit nervous.

"To be honest, I thought it would be harder. But here we go!" William said with a smile as he moved Ratatoskr away and was now directly below Nidhogg "Sorry sweetie." He said and placed his palms against each other as power slowly was being amassed there. What he needed was a single-hit which would destroy Nidhogg's body along with the part which had the parasite in. Or at least the part he assumed was parasited.

All of energies he could muster from his body gathered in a singular orb as they blended slowly unto a perfection as he also added the Annihilation into it as it started releasing sparks.

After a short while he was ready to throw it.

"You sure this will work?" Ratatoskr asked worried. Even if he may be a troll and quite hated across the Nine Realms, those close to the Tree were pretty much a family to each other.

"I'll cut off the supply of energy the moment I'll see the parasite gone."

"How will you see it gone? Won't your attack disturb any senses you have?"

A silence occurred between the two as William 'turned-off' the energy and it returned to him. "Yeah... Don't wanna damage the tree."

As the two looked at Nidhogg, William made sure not to stay idle and was trying to scan it fully. The Parasite seemed physical, and was clearly. Clearly siphoning all energy out of Nidhogg and through Nidhogg it was taking energy from the tree itself and sending somewhere, somewhere outside and it wasn't just to another realm or anywhere in DxD. Nor it's 'counter-dimension', namely ExE where William didn't want to step. Why? Dunno.

"Something..." He keep staring at the black dragon when an idea struck him. If he could spread mana and honkai to sense around, and gather it in his eyes. Why shouldn't he try with other powers?

Before he could try it, a small tingle of mana appeared in the air as he was suddenly hit by a giant explosion. 'Divinity?' He backed off as he started looking around. Not finding a thing, not even the rodent himself. "Damn Squirrel..." He muttered and continued scouting not finding the caster.

Not even closing his eyes he started channeling the Chaos inside his body as the space between his palms started visibly shaking. And at once someone finally revealed themselves.

"Loki." William hissed towards the trickster who smirked, and it felt 1-to-1 same as the 'Loki' he took care of by entrance to Helheimr.

"Would you mind not meddling with Norse? If I asked kindly?" Loki asked as he looked coldly towards William, but there was a clear glint of recognition. And wariness, but to Loki's dismay he only received a childish grin and a retort which touched upon his delicate godly nerves.

"Imagine getting plowed by an animal, I still wonder to this day why you continued with plan." He coughed gently as if to create little impression "Svaðilfari was it?" He gave him a toothy grin as Loki only reciprocated with a glare and hundreds of ready spells to shoot.

So, how's everyone's day? For me it was quite tiring, so I'mma hit the hay in a moment. Also, this is 11 chapter I am releasing in this month.(Counting all Novels of my writing.)

And as such, I am actually quite surprised by myself, since the usual was like... what? 2 to 4 a month?

Also, I read my FIRST chapters. Yes, I mean first first where my writing skills were on level of a toddler.

...

Nah, a toddler would do it better.

ANYWAY.
