Dipper's POV

My hand trembled a bit as the music grew louder as we grew closer to the venue. Bill gave my hand a gentle squeeze and looked at me with a sympathetic smile.

"We don't have to go if you don't want to," he said, noticing my discomfort.

I shook my head, "no, it's fine. I don't want Mabel to get upset when she notices I'm not here." Why am I even bothering with that excuse, she won't notice I'm not here until the whole thing is over. She's probably off with Pacifica and forgot about me. Still, she's my sister; I love her and the last thing I want is for her to be upset.

"If you say so. If you change your mind, let me know and we'll go somewhere else." I nodded and we walked inside, his hand never leaving mine.

Bill and I walk around, looking for something to do. We end up just deciding to dance, seeing as Bill was eager to move around more. I mean, he was stuck as a statue for years, so it makes sense. And honestly, I've never had more fun at a party before.

At the peak of my fun, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and saw Wendy standing behind me.

"Hey Dipper, nice to see you for the first time all night," she said. Yeah, because she didn't even notice me when I walked in with Mabel. "Who's this? I've never seen him before."

I started to panic, "oh, um, this is-" Bill gently squeezed my hand to calm me before sticking his other hand out for Wendy to shake.

"I'm Will, nice to meet you."

Wendy smiled and shook his hand, "Nice to meet ya, I'm Wendy. So, are you a new friend of Dipper's?"

"Nah, we go way back. I was just in the area and noticed this little cutie all alone, so I decided to give him some company." I could tell he was being passive aggressive, trying to tell Wendy that she was at fault for leaving me alone.

Honestly, at this point, I was getting overwhelmed. The music was too much now, and I needed to get Bill out of here before he started picking fights on my behalf.

I gently tugged at his sleeve, "Will, can we go?" I asked. He smiled at me and kissed my forehead.

"Of course." We said our goodbyes to Wendy and left the venue. Mabel would just have to deal with me not being there. She knows shit like this is too much for me yet drags me here anyway. I could never tell her, though. The last thing I need is for her to be upset.

Bill kept a firm yet gentle grasp on my hand as we walked away. I unknowingly leaned against his arm and smiled to myself.

"So, I'm guessing parties aren't your thing?" He asked as we walked down the street.

I shook my head, "not really. I don't mind small parties, but big ones can get overwhelming."

"I get it. So, how else would you like to spend this night?" He asked, stopping to face me. I shrugged my shoulders. Anything I wanted to do would probably bore him, and the last thing I wanted was for him to be bored of me already. He stopped my thinking by placing his hand on my cheek and kissing my forehead. "I could never be bored of you, Pinetree. Now what would you like to do?"

I smiled, "can we just go back to the shack and talk? Or read?"

He nodded, "of course."

He snapped his fingers and suddenly we were back at the shack. Ford was definitely in the basement right now, so I didn't have to worry about him seeing Bill.

I led Bill up to my room, thankful that I don't room with Mable anymore. Now I can finally have a bit of privacy and she can do whatever she wants without bothering me.

Bill sits down on my bed and motions for me to sit between his legs. I relax into him, my back against his chest. He gets comfortable too, lying his head atop mine and wrapping his arms around my torso.

"What was it like being a statue for all these years?" I ask, breaking our few moments of silence.

"Boring, lonely, everything you'd expect it to be. But at least I had you every summer to keep me entertained. Even if I couldn't talk back, I liked listening to your stories." I smiled and blushed a bit. "Speaking of which, did you ever talk to anyone else about anything you told me?"

"No. Everyone else has their own lives, and most of them like listening to Mable more anyway. I'm pretty boring to them. Don't get me wrong, we still have fun and talk, but I don't think they'd be interested in anything I have to say."

He gives me a gentle squeeze. "I'm sorry, Pinetree."

"I know they love me, but sometimes I've never felt more alone than when I'm around them. Especially Mable. She just doesn't listen to me."

"Maybe you should talk to her about it."

"Are you crazy?" I look back at him, seeing that familiar smirk on his face. "Bad question. But seriously, I could never talk to her about it. She'll just get upset, and I don't want to deal with that tantrum."

The room was plunged into silence once more. It wasn't uncomfortable or anything. It was nice to just sit and enjoy Bill's company... and cuddles. Though after he placed another soft kiss on my cheek, I finally came up with another question.

"Hey Bill?"

"Yeah?"

"What... are we?"

"You're a human and I'm a demon."

"No, I mean like relationship wise. You don't seem to have a problem with my crush on you considering the cuddles and the kisses. I just... want to know how you feel about me, I guess."

He was silent for a moment, which made me worry, but he did eventually speak.

"Pinetree, turn around." I did as he said, and he held both my hands, rubbing the backs of them with his thumbs. "I'm not too familiar with emotions, especially when it comes to complex ones like love, but I know I feel something for you. I would feel comfortable calling it love, I suppose."

I blushed and smiled, "so... would you also feel comfortable calling me your boyfriend?"

He smiled, "that sounds nice. You're my boyfriend now, Pinetree!" I blushed madly and looked away from him, only to feel him place his hand under my chin and lifting my head. "Can I?" He asked, looking from my eyes to my lips and back again.

"I'm not gonna stop you." He smiled and slowly leaned in, connecting our lips for a long, loving kiss. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he placed his hands on my waist, though eventually we pulled away so I could get some air. He chuckled and placed his forehead against mine. I looked him in his beautiful golden eyes, "stay?"

"I never planned on leaving. But what if Mable or your grunkles come in?"

"I'll handle it. I just want you here with me."

He gave me a quick peck on the lips, "I can do that."
