The next day, Y/N decided to go on another run. He snuck out in the morning when no one would see him leave. There was someone he needed to see.
Y/N ran all the way across town. He stopped when he reached the side of the street outside of CC Jitters. The young man kept out of sight, wearing a jacket and baseball cap to conceal himself. He waited for around 8:00, his usual time.
At exactly 8:00, Barry Allen walked out of the coffee shop. Y/N smiled upon seeing his brother. He just wanted to make sure he was alright. Y/N was a bit caught off guard by someone exiting the store with Allen. It was a blonde woman, slightly shorter than the man talking to her. The two were engrossed in a nice conversation.
Y/N decided to follow them, keeping his distance. He reached the side of a little ditch with a road that went under an underpass. Barry and his friend were crossing the street, still engrossed in their conversation. Y/N smiled to himself upon seeing his foster brother happy.
Suddenly, Y/N was alerted to a screeching noise. He turned and spotted a runaway car skidding down the street. The vehicle soon lost control and flipped into the air. It was heading right for Barry and the girl.
Acting quickly with his heart racing, Y/N ran as fast as he could over to Barry. He grabbed his friend and the girl and pushed them out of the way of the vehicle. The three were sent to the side of the underpass. Barry and the girl were thrusted onto their backs, Y/N kneeling over them with his head turned towards the falling car.
The vehicle fell down on its roof and skidded across the road. Y/N looked on in shock at the vehicle. Barry looked on as well before looking at the man standing over him. Y/N realized he was spotted, feeling Barry's eyes on him. His heart raced and his body felt like it was shaking.
Y/N brought his hand up and realized something. His body actually was shaking. He was vibrating back and forth, his overall physical appearing blurry. He turned back to Barry, now being able to look at him without being recognized.
Barry: Who... who are you?
Y/N couldn't think of anything to say. Before he could reply, both he and Allen were alerted to the driver of the downed car crawling out the window. The blonde haired man stood up, cracking his neck and rubbing his shoulder.
Y/N got a good look at the man. He thought he recognized him from somewhere. He then remembered where. Barry's report on the night of the lightning strike. Before Y/N could say anything, Barry said the name for him.
Barry: Clyde Mardon?
The blonde man turned in their general direction, looking at the two men. Y/N stood up and began to walk towards him. Upon seeing the vibrating man, Mardon smirked and brought up his hands. Y/N was stunned by what he saw next.
Fog started to roll out of Mardon, filling the air. It surrounded the entire street, creating a dense cloud of water vapor. Y/N looked at it all, astonished. Clyde continued to grin at Y/N before backing up and disappearing into the cloud of mist.
