chapter storyline from station 19 season 5 episode 3
"Record temperatures expected to rise as high as 106 in Los Angeles. This is an unprecedented heat wave that experts are calling dangerously hot..." The reporters voice got lost in the background as the firefighters of Two Seventeen moved lazily around the kitchen.
Logan tried to bring a bite of his pasta to his mouth but dropped the fork back into the bowl as he groaned, "It's too hot to eat."
Leo moved towards the sink as he said, "It's too hot to do anything," he then turned the water on and dipped his head under the cold water.
"Too much clothing," Cleo complained as she tugged on her collar.
Ayla followed in behind her, sweat dripping down her face as she unbuttoned her uniform top, "I don't care what anyone says, I am stripping."
"I like the sound of that."
The team turned to look at the new voice and found the 118 standing at the entrance of the kitchen. Buck had a smirk on his face as he placed his hands in his pockets, "Give us a show Calaway."
Ayla shot him a glare while Leo asked, his head still under the water, "What are you doing here?" There was a mixture of annoyance and disgust in his tone.
"They're here for the Push-In, remember?" Alex spoke as he walked through the 118 and into the kitchen.
"One of our new bonding exercises," Chimney said with air quotes.
Leo spoke to himself, "I wonder how long it would take for this water to drown me."
Logan put his head into his hands as he spoke, "That was today?"
Cleo made her way over to their Captain and muttered, "Is it really smart to do this today, on one of the hottest days of the year, where everyone's already in a bad mood from the heat. We're basically being set up for disaster."
"Chiefs orders. Nothing we can do about it."
"Nice place you guys got here," Eddie said, catching everyone's attention, as he walked more into the kitchen. He wasn't being sarcastic, the 217 had a very nice station. And to think, he could have been working here.
"Only the best, for the best." Leo said as he dried his face off with a towel, a smirk could be seen on his lips.
Before anyone could argue back, Bobby said, "Remember, we're here to bond not fight. That goes for everyone." He shot a pointed look at Alex.
