Epilogue

A/N: so here we are.  The end of the story.  I'd like to thank you all for reading, and for your likes and comments.  It really means a lot to me. I hope you've all enjoyed it.  I'd like to ask you all a massive favour.  Please would you be able to look back and "like" any chapters that maybe you forgot to click like on.  Or all of them if you haven't "liked" any so far. I'd really appreciate it.  It really does mean a lot to see people appreciating all the hard work I put into this one.  I'll be restarting Red Hot! shortly.  I also have another project I'm working on.  I may post a sneak peek of it later if you'd like to see.  Anyway, here's the epilogue.  Enjoy!  X

Five Weeks Later

Seb had the biggest grin on his face as he ran down the concrete steps, taking them two at a time.  Today was the most important day of his life.  It was the day he had been looking forward to ever since he'd realised Leah was the one.  It was the day he was finally going to ask her to marry him. In around seven hours time he would be dropping to one knee and asking her to be his wife.

He'd woken that morning full of nerves.  In fact, he'd even been sick because he'd felt that nervous.  That's why he'd come for a run, to take his mind off of everything.  He'd left his phone back at home, he didn't want any calls, he just wanted some time alone to breathe in the fresh country air and enjoy the beautiful scenery around him.

He came to a halt near the lake, it was sparkling like a diamond, the morning sun reflecting off of its surface. The grass surrounding it was wet where the bright, late January sun had melted the frost. He could hear the honking of a goose coming from the small island in the centre of the pear shaped lake, a cow mooing in the field on the far side, but that was all.  There was not a soul to be seen.

He began to walk slowly, his mind full of thoughts of Leah.  He wondered how she felt this morning. It had been her first night out of hospital.  He hadn't had the heart to wake her when he'd got up. She'd woken a few times during the night for painkillers and Seb had held her while she'd cried while waiting for them to start working. He wanted her to get as much rest as she could. The more she rested, the quicker she'd heal and the better she'd feel.

They were staying at her Dad's for the next couple of weeks, then they'd be moving to their new UK home.  He'd rushed through a purchase on a small isolated cottage just five miles away from Martin and Vicky.  He'd paid a small fortune to have it adapted so it was easier for Leah while she recovered.   A stairlift had been installed and a walk-in shower had been put in.

She was just about back on her feet now her leg cast would be removed in a few weeks all being well but he was afraid the stairs would still be a struggle for her, and he wouldn't always be around to carry her up and down.   Soon he'd have to start visiting the factory, first for his seat fit, then sim work and then the launch. Then it would be testing, he was hoping to persuade Leah to join him in Barcelona for the test.

Leah Vettel.  He loved the sound of it.   His wife.  It felt like he had a kaleidoscope of butterflies in his stomach as he thought once again about his upcoming proposal. He began to jog again.  As nervous as he was,  he couldn't wait.

Martin, Vicky and Joel were all going out for the evening.  They were in on his plan.  Vicky was cooking them a special meal.  He wanted it to be perfect.  That's why he'd waited.  He'd been longing to ask her ever since she'd woken up but he didn't want to ask her while she was in hospital.  He wanted it to be a night that both of them would remember for a long time.

He decided that he couldn't wait any longer to see her again.  He missed her already.  After so many weeks of watching her sleep he wanted to sneak back into bed with her and kiss her awake.
