“Alright, I give up”, Minho panted, thrusting a bottle of sunscreen into Chan’s hand, “Be a good hyung and put some sunscreen on Jinnie, will you?” Chan only shrugged and turned to make his way to the little’s room while Minho collapsed onto the couch. The second oldest fanned himself with his hands before dragging his wrist across his forehead to wipe his sweat. It was easily over thirty degrees outside and despite the air-conditioning in the dorm, Minho was convinced that he could feel every single degree. To be fair, he had spent the entire morning trying to get Hyunjin ready.

The group had a day off and after endless pleading and pouting, Hyunjin had finally been able to convince his caregivers to take him to the park. Now that they were about to go though, the little was starting to give them a hard time though. All had been well when Minho had helped him pick out some clothes but when the older pulled out a bottle of sunscreen and told Hyunjin he had to put some on first, the boy had started to throw a fit. It even got to the point that Jinnie tried to make a run for it and Minho had to chase a shirtless little around the dorm. He had not succeeded in putting sunscreen on his dongsaeng and only ended in getting both of them drenched with sweat.

“Jinnie?”, Chan called as he got closer to the boy’s room, “Where are you, prince?” Clamping his hands over his mouth, Hyunjin held his breath. If he was really quiet, maybe his hyung wouldn’t notice him. There was no way he’d find the energy for another chase. It was far too hot to be physically active at all and his run from Minho had left him icky with sweat. He couldn’t imagine how much ickier he’d be if Chan too insisted to put sunscreen on his damp skin.

Hyunjin startled when he suddenly came face to face with Chan, the leader wearing a wide smile on his face. “I thought you wanted to go to the park today”, the Aussie reminded, taking a step to the side and successfully cutting off the little’s escape route, “You’ll have to put on some sunscreen for that.” – “Nuh!”, Hyunjin denied, vehemently shaking his head, “Ish icky.” Holding back a laugh, Chan countered: “And so is sunburn. Come on, or do you want to wait till sun down before we can get going?” – “Nuh”, the younger mumbled sadly. It had been so hard to convince the others to go to the park with him, so he wouldn’t miss out on it now.

Chan yelled for Minho to fetch a towel, so they could dry Hyunjin’s sweat before putting the sunscreen on him. He was afraid the little would change his mind if he gave him an opportunity to get away, so he didn’t dare get it himself. The two eldest members made quick work of drying Hyunjin off before rubbing sunscreen on him. The process was accompanied with lots of discontent whines and the little didn’t stop pouting at his hyungs afterwards. As soon as they had let him go, Hyunjin had scampered off to sulk and seek some affection from his other caregivers.

“Why does my little prince look so sad?”, Jisung cooed when he met Hyunjin in the living room. Giving the rapper the most upset puppy eyes he could manage, Hyunjin sniffled: “Ma skin’s icky.” – “Oh no. Why’s that, bubs?”, Jisung frowned, not having witnessed his hyungs’ struggle. “Icky sunscreen”, the little whined, pulling at his clothes that stuck to his skin. Holding back a chuckle because the boy was so relatable, Jisung promised: “Let’s quickly grab our stuff, so we can get going, yeah?” Hyunjin surely would forget about the unpleasant sensation as soon as they were out.

The members were quick to gather and put on their shoes, eager to distract Jinnie. That wasn’t too difficult, the little waddling along between Felix and Seungmin, holding their hands. They had linked their fingers, their arms swinging loosely between them. At first, Hyunjin had walked a little odd because he didn’t like the way his clothes moved against his skin but once the entrance to the park came into view, all else was forgotten. Felix tightened his grip on the little’s hand and reminded: “We’ll play and have lots of fun but make sure to stay close to hyungs and don’t talk to strangers, ‘kay?” Giving the Aussie an innocent smile, Hyunjin nodded but already tugged on his hand.

As soon as Felix let go of the boy, Hyunjin ran up to Changbin and tapped his shoulder. “Tag, chu it!”, the dancer whisper-yelled before taking off. He broke into a delighted giggle when he looked over his shoulder and saw Changbin starting to jog. Chan gave Minho a look and raised his eyebrow. How did their dongsaeng still have the energy to play tag after having both of them chase him around the dorm. Besides, they had already sweat in their air-conditioned dorm and it was crazy hot out here.

While the maknae-line joined the game of tag, Chan and Minho found a nice spot in the grass, shaded by a large tree. They got comfortable and watched their dongsaengs chase each other around the park, occasionally snapping a few pictures of the boys. Hyunjin’s mood had improved significantly, which the two eldest were more than relieved about. It was frustrating to always have to be the bad guys thiugh, even if it meant their baby would be safe.

When the members took a break and joined Chan and Minho to catch their breaths and have some water, it was obvious that Jinnie didn’t hold a grudge against the two eldest. He tiredly collapsed into Minho’s side, still panting. Brushing the little’s sweat damp bangs out of his face, Minho gently fanned him while Chan uncapped a water bottle. The leader carefully tipped the bottle against Hyunjin’s lips and helped him drink some before allowing the boy to stretch out in the grass, completely spent.
