I'm Jayde Daniels, a girl who lives with her abusive dad and alcoholic mother.

~~

Today is moving day, I'm leaving my abusive dad and alcoholic mom's house. Sarah, my aunt pulled me up to the new house that I was going to be living in. Sarah dropped me off and drove away while I walked up to my new home. I knocked on the door opened by a tall white man with dark hair and a short black lady with a pretty smile.

"Hey, you must be Jayde?!" The lady asked. I nodded my head, smiling. "I'm Veronica but you can call me V and this is Kevin and you can call him Kev." I smiled and glared over at the neighbors. "That's the Gallagher's, you'll meet them later."

She showed me to my room and I unpacked. "Wanna go to the Gallagher's now?" Kev asked me. "Yeah sure." I smiled.

As we walked over, there was a guy standing on the porch smoking a cigarette. He had messy dark hair and thin lips. He looked at Kev and V and smiled moving out of the way for us to get in.

"Kev, V? You care if I introduce myself to this one quick?" The guy said as they nodded and continued to walk in. I stayed outside and he looked me up and down. "Did they adopt you?" He asked taking a puff out of the cigarette. I nodded and he chuckled. He looked at me offering me the cigarette. I took it into my fingers and took a long hit.

Growing up with a bad family, I got myself into cigarettes and drinking to escape from the pain my parents would cause me. I know it isn't good for me but it was an addiction and an escape from the reality of the world.

"What's your name?" He questioned as I handed the cigarette back. I smiled and said,"Jayde Daniels, what about you?" He looked at me and threw the cigarette on the ground,"Lip". He said as we walked into the house.

Once him and I finally got into the house, everyone had eyes on me. The first one to walk up to me was a dark haired female with a beautiful smile. "Hi! I'm Fiona. I see you've met Lip already." She laughed with disappointment. I nodded and said,"I'm Jayde". She smiled and patted my back while a red-headed girl walked up to me,"I'm Debbie". She was super pretty. Fiona looked at me,"That's Liam and Ian. I have no clue where my other brother is". I said hi to both of them and then sat down on the couch while Kev, V and Fiona walked into the kitchen to make us all food. Debbie took Liam upstairs while Ian and Lip sat next to me.

"Where you from?" Ian questioned me as I remained still. "I'm from Texas" I said calmly. "Ooh so you're a little country girl?" Ian and Lip laughed. "You could say that" I chuckled along with them.

Our heads snapped to the door as it slammed open. I seen a dark haired boy who was shorter. He was very good looking.

"Fiona, what the fuck?" He came in yelling while angrily walking into the kitchen. Lip and Ian leaned back while Lip said,"And that's our brother, Carl". I looked back in the kitchen and laid back on the couch copying the boys.

——

"Food is ready!" Fiona yelled across the house. Everyone ran into the kitchen and sat down at the table. Suddenly the back door opened. It was an older guy, I could smell the alcohol on him. I assume it is their dad. I already knew how to take care of the situation whether he knew me or not. Fiona, Lip and I stood up. I looked at them,"I'll handle it". Kev and V know what happened in my past so they were nervous about this part of me seeing it.

This guy might have been heavy but I lifted him up onto my shoulder, holding his legs as he dangled over my back. I laid him down on the couch and grabbed a water bottle out of the fridge. I set it on the coffee table next to the couch as he passed out. I sat back down at the table while everyone sat quietly staring at me.

"So who's the chick?" Carl questioned in a rude manner. Fiona was about to answer but growing up the way I did, people talking to me like I'm worthless, I snapped back. "You know I have a name, right? I think most people do." I said rolling my eyes at him. "She's got an attitude." He whispered in Ian's ear. I stood up, put my dishes in the sink and walked outside. I pulled a cigarette out of my pack and lit it.

Soon after, I seen a ginger boy walk outside. "You okay?" He asked me. "Oh Ian, Carl's words don't affect me. They never will." He looked shocked and took the cigarette out of my hand taking a hit. "How'd you know what to do with Frank?" I assume he's talking about the older guy from earlier.

"None of your business."
