Once upon a dream, there was once a humble shoemaker in the busy village of the Kingdom of Enchancia. A mother and daughter who were exceptionally skilled in their craft, had been called upon the castle grounds to personally deliver the King's shoes. One might say it reminded them of the story Cinderella, with their love story blossoming over a shoe. Though this one might be made out of leather not glass. Through their newly found love, the King and the shoemaker had wed, and thus she had become the Kingdom's new Queen.
But of course, it wouldn't be right that her daughter would be left behind their old home. King Roland wouldn't be able to sleep even a wink if he'd leave the young girl there, he cherished the young girl as his own child even if he hadn't gotten the chance of meeting her yet. Once she had been officially accepted as her new daughter, he made sure that everyone in the Kingdom new of her existence and threw a ball to mark the day as a grand welcome of becoming a part of his family, and to becoming the new and second princess of Enchancia.
"I don't get it," said Sofia who stood near Amber. "Aren't we already acquainted within other countries? Or is this another thing that I haven't been told about."
Amber waved her hand. "Don't worry about it Sofia, it's just a custom us royalty have to do." She paused. "Well actually, I think debutante's are for the nobles too. It is a good way to find an eligible husband."
Sofia's eyes widened, somewhat feeling excitement swell in her heart. "Husband? Are you getting married at this age, Amber?"
A loud genuine laugh left Amber's lips. Sofia's eyebrows furrowed, baffled with her sister's sudden laughter. Did she say something funny? She was only looking forward to her sister's future, especially since marrying would be a big deal for her as future Queen of Enchancia. To marry someone for love would be most best for her sister, after all she is quite a handful of a person if you hadn't known her well enough.
"No, no. Not like that, but think of the nobles ranks... well how do I put it in a way that doesn't seem rude..."
The younger princess took notice on her sister's attempt to try and explain in a way that wouldn't sound offensive. Sofia spoke. "It's alright Amber, I know what you're trying to say."
"Alright then, but it is a way for them to connect with other bachelors and like I said, find a suitable wife for them. It is quite different for us royalty, especially since we've known other royalty offsprings since we were children." Amber continued. "But apparently, we would still need to attend a debutante ball. To officially make our appearance in the society and in the marriage market, though some of us are already engaged."
Sofia hummed, nodding her head. "That is a great point."
"Mhm, our friends might also attend one of those balls." Amber added. "It just depends whether they accept the invites or not, they might be busy after all."
