district 11
she'd gotten dressed on the train, a perfect white blouse tucked into a white skirt, with a white headband keeping her hair pulled out of her face.
white is pure.
Atala really wanted her to wear a lot of white.
they arrived in district 11 far quicker than she'd have liked, Flavius had to all but shove her off the train where her Victor facade had to instantly come on as people were stood waiting for her.
she had no idea what these people thought of her.
she had killed their friends.
their family.
she knows she'd hate herself if that was her.
how was she supposed to stand there and applaud their sacrifice when she was the one who ended their life?
simple.
she had no choice.
she waved at everybody who waved at her, desperate to keep her front as she walked up to the stage.
she walked straight up and lifted the microphone off the stand, her other hand behind her back and gripping at her shirt.
"hello, district 11." she started, her voice as calm as she could make it. "it's a pleasure to be speaking to you all today.. i know you're all aware that i was the one who ended your tributes lives."
she gulped.
"i feel for their families, for the grief of a child is not something that anybody should ever feel.. but their deaths were not in vain."
she was lying.
again.
"they died for a better Panem, for a safe Panem. they sacrificed themselves for the Capitol, and for the people in every district to know of the sacrifice they gave. for Panem."
that was it.
that's all she could do before she turned around and went inside the building.
her little crew following her instantly.
Finnick pulled her into a hug as soon as they got inside. "it's difficult, i know.."
she hugged him back tightly, her arms wrapping around him in a tight grip.
"permission to say something that might hurt your feelings?"
he rolled his eyes playfully and gestured for her to speak.
"i really miss Johanna.."
he rolled his eyes again. "'course you do, 'cause me your mentor isn't good enough for you anymore." he teased, poking her sides.
"stop!" she demanded, giggles leaving her mouth as she tried to fight away from him.
he let her go with a small huff.
"it's my birthday in a couple of days, actually.. while we should be in district 7." she mumbled.
"i'll get Johanna decorating already, she's already said we can stay there instead of in the Mayor's building for the night."
"Johanna? decorating for a 13 year olds birthday? i'd love to see that."
"for you, she'd do anything."

authors note
district 11, complete.i might skip district 10, 9 and even 8, go straight to 7
12 was important because it was the start, 11 was important because she killed their tributes.
no other one is important till 7 now, so we're skipping to 7.
and Evie's 13th birthday x
