At The End

The sun goes down

On yet another day

The landscape

Drenched in golden sunlight

Stands silent

Mothers tuck in their children

And crickets play their symphony

The sun goes down

On yet another day

Water glistens

Beating against the shore

The last gull cries

Its weary call

I close my eyes to the sound of waves

The sun goes down

And the night begins

The moon and stars appear

The quiet land and rhythmic waves

Produce a gentle lullaby

For at the end

Of the day
