The Doll

There once lived a doll

Who did nothing

But stare at the wall

She sat atop

Plush pillows

And never said a word

Old was she

Almost antique

And never played with

Not a whisper escaped

From her thin porcelain lips

Not a tear could she cry

Alone in solitude

In a room filled with dust

Was she lonely

Ever so lonely
