Abhi walked into the room and shut the door. The tears threated but he did not shed them. He felt like the lowest creature on the earth. His mother sold him like he was a piece of useless trash. His father gave him off to the highest bidder. The one person who he learned to trust was no better. They wanted to sell him, he wanted to buy him off.
I crore. That was his worth. At least he did not come cheap. The thought made Abhi more sad. he leaned against the door frame and lowered himself to the ground. At that moment he felt shattered. Leo woofed from the other side of the door, wanting to be let it, but Abhi did not have the patience. He wanted to be left alone.
When Abhi did not open the door Leo grew restless. He scratched on the door hoping his young master would give into to his pleas, but Abhi did not budge. Leo looked around for help and saw Andy coming there. He rushed to Andy's side and grabbed his jeans. His cries conveyed his distress.
"What happened buddy?" Andy couched down to pat his head. Leo raced back to Abhi's door and paused looking back at Andy, conveying his agitation.
"Dawaza nahi khol raha? (Is he not opening the door?)" He looked at the dog.
Leo woofed. Andy sighed. If he had been in the boys place he would have raised hell. He understood the boy's distress even when he did not wish to do anything with him. His mind told him to walk away. Abhi could deal with his own feelings. But his heart refused to let go. He could never see a person in distress. That was his greatest weakness. There was a reason why he chose the research wing, he could not bring himself to shoot another person. Not even to save himself. He was desperate to be on Team Black Phoenix, but as a research aid. Not on the frontline end. It would still put him in line of fire, but he did not have to take a life. Not until he was forced to.
Leo woofed again bringing him to his senses.
"Its okay champ, Abhi is upset"
Leo gave him a soulful look. Andy sighed. He was sucker for the look. Abhi had the same desolate look in his eyes. Something Andy found hard to ignore. He waked to the door and knocked. There was no answer. Andy was not expecting him to answer.
"Abhi, can you please open the door?"
Inside Abhi Stiffened. He was not expecting Andy to come after him.
"Abhi?" He heard Andy's voice again and moved away. He did not wish to open the door. He did not wish to talk to anyone. He was sure Andy came after him to give him a piece of his mind. He had already warned him to not to rob his Bhaiyu. Now his mother had made Andy's apprehensions come true. The boy would never believe that he was not after Arjun's money. Specially when Arjun was paying an astronomical amount to keep him.
Abhi looked out of the French windows. he was not a commodity to be bought and sold. he hated the very idea. Arjun shook his trust. Abhi could not trust a man who put a price tag to him, no matter what his intentions were. what could be bought could be sold again and he refused to put himself though the hell again.
