The group arrived at the island and they were happy their ship wasn't something fancy, they docked and got off and saw the people living on the island, much of the first town they found was normal looking besides the fact they were candy-themed
Shin: so I'm no the only one feeling out of place?
Azazel: no, I think to hide your rings shin, don't need others getting leads about you and your connections just yet
Shin: Yeah your right
He took off the rings and put them in his gauntlet, they decided to walk around no one really paid mind to them but they did blend in well enough
Man: oh man before I forget I better get ready for the separation
Man2: yea I've been ready all week now you know when the tides rise the island spits into 9 and food becomes scarce last time was tight, and my family nearly ran out of food, hopefully, that demon doesn't go on a rampage this month I just fixed my house to the way I want it
Man: same
Both shuddered and carried on with their day the group sat down at a coffee shop and got something to drink
Shin: so the island spits into 9 separate islands, weird
Saji: that's the least of our problems what "demon" was he talking about?
Azazel: one thing is for sure, there's something off about this place, people being this happy when their lives are constantly disrupted doesn't seem so good don't you think?
Sirzehcs: how about we just keep exploring around to see what we can find about celestial dragons?
Shin: I like that idea, how about we spit up and see what we can find and at sun set we meet....
He looked around for a large landmark and then pointed at something
Shin: we meet at the centre candle here in the town
They nodded and then paid for their drinks then went their sperate ways they went around looking for information best they could and to shins luck someone that runs a bar gave him some information
Bartender: the demon everyone refers too is big mom... a giant woman with the appetite to eat this country's clean
Shin: then why don't you leave?
Bartender: her kids she has 9 of them each one runs a town each one just as dangerous, You clearly an outsider so I'll show you
He pulled out a pen and a napkin and started drawing
Bartender: you came at the worst time honesty, the separation is about to happen, this is caused each month when the water rises for a while and stays that way for most of the month sometimes it's gone over two months when this happens the one massive island becomes this ring of 8 islands with 1 in the centre making 9 islands when this happens our lives go on lockdown for a month, we get one week out of each month if we lucky, to prepare for the worst when the water rises we sped that week just building up stock best we can, but each of the 9 kids demands more from us during this time because they know we don't have much to give or do and if we try and leave they hunt us down for sport and kill us claiming they don't want their people to leave them
Shin: damn, this place sounds horrible to live in
Bartender: on the contrary, it's not as bad as it seems, fishing jobs increase and fish prices drop but that's not what you referring to, we know we're stuck here but as long as we do our part and do not upset the kids and big mom then we live relatively peaceful lives
